Rudy Giuliani hired Norman Podhoretz, one of the original signatories of the "Statement of Principles" of the neoconservative think tank PNAC, to lead his foreign policy advisory board. He's among those who advised President Bush to bomb Iran. Along with other PNAC signatories such as Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz and Lewis "Scooter" Libby, they urged President Clinton and President Bush to start a preemptive war against Iraq in order to spread democracy in the Middle East. The PNAC and other think tanks have influenced the Republican party to promote "American global leadership" and advocate foreign interventionism.

Giuliani and Republican candidates, Huckabee, McCain, Romney, and Thompson are in general agreement when it comes to foreign policy.

A vote for any of the above, is a vote for foreign interventionism, for more nation building, for manipulating other countries' internal affairs, and for much more spending -- this will impact your retirement savings. The U.S. Government doesn't have the money to pay for all of this, in fact the U.S owes 9 trillion dollars and the debt is growing at 1.3 billion dollars a day. Therefore, it has to resort to printing new money. As new money enters the overall money supply, it dilutes the value of your savings, negatively impacting your retirement.

With this message, I hope to nudge you to realize that how you vote on the day your state holds its primaries, will have significant consequences to your future. It is my sincere opinion that Giuliani's foreign policy, just as Huckabee's, McCain's, Romney's, and Thompson's foreign policy is self-destructive.

For the Love of America, vote for peace and economic prosperity! It is my most heartfelt plea to urge you to examine all the candidates beyond just gossip and soundbites -- what issue is most important to you? Did you check each candidate's web site to see where they stand on the issues?

I am voting for Ron Paul after independently researching each of the candidates and figuring that economic prosperity, liberty and peace are my most important issues, just as I hope that they are among your important issues as well.

While reading his book "Foreign Policy of Freedom" I had an epiphany, a realization that foreign interventionism is doomed to fail. He has been advocating a strong defense and armed neutrality since he first took office as a Congressman in 1976. Here is a key quote from a speech to Congress in 1982:

"Interventionism in the internal affairs of other nations and policing the world to make it safe for democracy do exactly the same thing as domestic economic intervention. They create more problems than they solve. Our experiment with foreign policy interventionism has failed, just as our experience with domestic economic interventionism has failed"

Socialism is just that - domestic economic interventionism. Early in our history, it was the free-market and individual liberties that encouraged the American entrepreneurial spirit to make this country great. Ron Paul believes liberty is the most important American value for peace and prosperity. Because of this, he advocates low taxes, free-markets and sound monetary policies.

If domestic interventionism is doomed to fail, as famous economist Ludwig von Mises states in his book "Socialism: An Economic and Sociological Analysis", why should we believe that interventionism abroad has any better chance of succeeding? Is it not the spirit of liberty that has been the key to our success? If liberty means success, we should strive to encourage others to adopt liberty as we do. The best way to spread American values to the world is through leadership by example, encouraging liberty, by armed neutrality, and securing our borders with a strong defense.

Ron Paul is a ranking member of the Subcommittee on Domestic and International Monetary Policy, Trade, and Technology. Of all the candidates, he has the most relevant experience and understanding in monetary policy, trade and financial services. With 20 years experience as a Congressman, clearly, Ron Paul is the most qualified presidential candidate to ensure that the most important American value, liberty, is encouraged for the benefit of peace and economic prosperity.

Sincerely,
Mike Garcia
