That video was great. And yeah, I'm surprised CNN is playing it as it contains the truth.

I didn't hear him making sure that people understood that he wasn't going to end Social Security. Did I miss it?

not to be a downer.. but compared to the Obama speech that comes next.. this was very very "scattered"..

Its January 1st.. could Dr. Paul PLEASE PLEASE deliver an EPIC SPEECH that is memorized from start to finish??

Haha on the CNN feed Ron's voice sounds like T-Pain...

Maybe it's these weird Linux codecs.

It sounds like someone is having fun with a harmonizer (digital sound effect that can change pitch of audio in real time). A funky codec would be more consistent and predictable. This sounds very random- like a junior audio tech (probably Obama supporter) having fun with a knob or a keyboard.

It makes it impossible to watch for more than a minute.

Have you tried this link? It sounds decent to me. Not perfect - not too bad.

I just downloaded the .flv file from CNN - and straight uploaded the same file without processing.

I can try running it through a converter and improving the audio.

I'd be willing to bet that that's what CNN had in mind.

Any younger ears out there who tend to be more sensitive to higher frequencies willing to check the second version compared to the first?

I'd like to know if I should just delete the first one since the sound is obviously altered by CNNIA.

First version - noisy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxpZYdYQlbA

Second version after encoding with as low an audio quality I could muster to try and muffle the noise (video quality is not as good either):

It's not really high frequencies though it is less noticeable in the lower quality version. It's more like his voice was mixed with an extremely sensitive pitch-corrected version of itself (think of all the songs where Cher sounds like a robot).

More like than not, it's just an artifact of recording, encoding, re-encoding, changing sampling rates (especially), etc. Weird things can happen.

The original vid that I uploaded was not encoded/altered by me at all - a simple video capture directly from the CNN site.

I didn't notice it as much as others.. but.. after reading the complaints I encoded to .avi from the original .flv -

then encoded the new .avi back to .flv with the lowest quality audio I could. - that's the second one up.

Now - since the video image was so poor on the second one - I've re-encoded the .avi with a much higher video quality -

twice the file size of the second one - video is much better - audio still the lowest quality possible for my software.

It's up now - I'm deleting both of the first two and going with the third one with low audio quality and high video quality

will post link with it finishes processing

Alright - got a higher quality video with low quality audio up now - the best I can do

And I know you read the board Agencies - you best look up my file from 1994 to see what happens when I'm not happy

If the important stuff hasn't been purged for you new guys not to see - think about it

And back then I didn't know you did this kind of stuff - I'm on to you now - and I don't appreciate having to go behind you

to correct the junk that you do - there will be Heavenly consequences from now on - you have been told
