Ron Paul 2008 Hires North Dakota State Coordinator

In preparation for the state's February fifth GOP caucus, Texas congressman Ron Paul?s Republican presidential campaign has named Charlene Nelson as its North Dakota State Coordinator.

"North Dakota voters are rallying to Dr. Paul's message of freedom, peace and prosperity," Nelson said.

"Residents of the Peace Garden State are tired of business as usual in Washington, and are ready for Congressman Paul's message of liberty and hope."

Mrs. Nelson is best known in North Dakota for her successful leadership in the grassroots effort to pass SB 2191, which dramatically increased financial privacy protections in North Dakota. In her role as chairwoman of the Protect Our Privacy citizens coalition, she helped repeal a North Dakota law that allowed banks to sell consumer information. She has also served on several other citizens committees dedicated to cutting taxes and spending on the state and local levels.

Congressman Ron Paul is the leading advocate for freedom in our nation's capital. As a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Dr. Paul tirelessly works for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies.

In the words of former Treasury Secretary William Simon, Dr. Paul is the lone exception to the Gang of 535 on Capitol Hill.
