I don't see how people can be so blind. Guiliani is widely esteemed as a crook in New York.

I give these polls no clout.

Heres the thing - Ron Paul is the only candidate with a VERY strong base of support that will not leave him. From these seeds, a movement is ripe to grow. The issue is, again, name recognition. The 600 people called in these polls represent the average american who maybe watched a little bit of TV, reads msn or yahoo as their only online source of news, and has never really heard of Ron Paul. Once it gets closer to the primaries, people will start to really open their ears and look at the candidates. Paul's message speaks for itself, certainly.

I mean, i hate to just "dismiss" low polling numbers because it comes off as cognitive dissonance, almost. But he HAS to be at least around 2-3%, and above the other lower teirs. Thats not a number i would just rationalize away.

After seeing that "voting machine video", I will certainly consider that Ron Paul is suppressed for a reason. I am deeply troubled by this.

My point is, if elections can be rigged, so can "polls" ---

And as a previous poster asked "why ghouliani, he is a crook..." sure is, but people don't really know that.... the media is handing him up on a silver platter.

We have to get doubly involved now...

Iowa straw poll is the first poll that means anything.

Most of the American populace is not paying attention to the race right now.

And I sincerely doubt that Ron Paul has the same amount of support now as he did 5 months ago.

Actually, guys, i just figured out why he polls so low. I actually was called a few days ago from a scientific polling company and they asked me a ton of questions, some about approval of the president, the economy, congress, etc. They asked me if the election were held today, would i vote for one of: and named like 6 or 7 republicans... INCLUDING BROWNBACK and FRED THOMPSON - a guy who has been polling lower than Paul and a guy who hasn't even DECLARED! One of the choices was "other", so i said other then they asked who, and i said Ron Paul. Perhaps that is a big reason why he is only polling 1%? Hes being included under "other"?

We got more signatures on a petition to keep RP in the Republican debates back in May than 1% of 'likely voters'.
