As a long-time libertarian, I was always somewhat confused as to what all the hubub was about fiat money. That is until Ron Paul clearly and simply expressed how the money supply is manipulated for political gain.
I had read that Wizard of Oz was written with a hidden political message, here is Wikipedia's thoughts on the matter:

This is probably not new to anyone, but thought I'd share.
Also I heard that if you start Dark Side of the Moon and Wizard of Oz at the same time, they match up. :D
