It's already been mentioned that on site observers are needed at voting places; this site http://www.blackboxvoting.org has some good advice about how to do it. Anyone planning to watch the voting process should read it.

But they raise questions about what happens to all the votes when they are called in to a central compilation point.

Says Iowa election process is ultimately controlled by a company owned by an Isreali defense contractor and that this part of the process is not very transparent.
I hope RP HQ has well thought out directions to give to those who are in Iowa to observe the polling process.
