Heh, they estimated 21,000 to participate in the first Iowa straw poll months ago. Only 14,000 showed.

It means the GOP thinks things are better than what they actually are. If we have any math wizzes here, and you can find the data, I would like to see a statistical analysis comparing the participation %'s between the earlier straw poll and the January caucus. Any takers?

this means that Iowa shoudl not have a caucus, they already are an ignorant population and even the majority of them refuse to take part in the caucus. Yet Iowa has so much say inn who the candidates are, that is bs...

But these low numbers could help us...

It doesn't mean anything really. They told us that 70-90K is typical, so we're right in there.

What does it mean for us?

It means we need to get rabid Ron Paul supporters to the caucus on Jan 3.

That's a pretty low number so it helps us. The Democrats are supposed to get twice as many as that.

It means we need to get rabid Ron Paul supporters to the caucus on Jan 3.

Every rabid RP supporter needs to bring at least 3 people to the caucus to quadruple our numbers.

The Huckster's done now... he might do well in Iowa, but after that he'll be lucky to poll 10%. I've seen many articles in the last couple days that make him look like a complete idiot.

83k?

That is VERY low. The 2004 RE-ELECTION of Bush had about 80k......

If turnout really is this low then RP has a good chance.

so, 66% of their predicted number actually showed up
if their prediction rate for tomorrows turnout also shows a similar differential (66%) we would see a turnout of approx. 54780

I think 83,000+ is a reasonable estimate. History says it will be around that or maybe a bit more.
