Get there at 6:30, no excuses.

Have ready:
ID with current address in the proper precinct, if not have ready your voter registration card

Stay until after the vote is cast, we can have a landslide victory and have it mean nothing if we don't stay for the delegate elections afterward.

I need to stress the point of staying for delegate election. Dean won 52% of the vote here in Iowa City and all of his people left, then people voted for delegates and he didn't get a single one so it was all for NOTHING!

Will Ron Paul send out emails to everyone in Iowa to stay after? Can someone call up the HQ or if anyone has connections at the HQ and tell them to email every Ron Paul supporter in Iowa stay after?

I would also add:

* Dress nicely
* Speak to people with respect and gentle confidence
* Listen to what they say, and respond with facts and consideration for their concerns
* Avoid contempt, frustration, and getting too emotional

You've all probably heard dozens if not hundreds of hours of Ron Paul material by now. Just remember his talking points, tactics, and manner, and if you're ever stumped, just ask yourself - what would Ron Paul do? :)

There is still a day and a half left. Soak in all of this information:

Iowa Caucus Handbook (http://www.ronpaul2008.com/files/IowaCaucusHandbook.pdf)

Iowa GOP Caucus Training (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-732873253563559056) [The important stuff starts at 3:10.]

Turn out. Vote. Vote for pro-Ron Paul delegates. Spread the word that people must stay to elect RP delegates!

Good info.

May I suggest that you guys crosspost this in the grassroots forum for greater exposure? I know it belongs here, but the reality is more people will see it over there.

You Iowans should treat this as a holiday party. Show up and stay the whole time. Call all your friends to show up too! Just hang out like you always do, except do it at the Caucus. This happens only once every four years.

All you college kids. Get all your friends and hang out at the Caucus. Use your cellphones. Call everyone you know. End the IRS! It's a party. Oh yeah...and make sure you vote for Ron Paul please.

(By the way, can you drink and eat there?)

some of the caucus's are held at bars or restaurants, so yes you can eat or drink at those locations. but some location are in schools or churches, so you would have to respect the owners wishes .

:eek:I heard that there could be voter fraud and irrgularities 2morrow. There has been events around the world that talked about violence, corruption and elections such as Kenya and Pakistan. I hope that this doesnt happen tomorrow to Ron Paul.

There is evidence that romney can capitalize on ron paul supporters just by the basis on his name. Romney and Ron Paul, 2 different names but if read fast on a handwritten note then the letter M and N wont make a difference.

Ron Paul, Possible Voter Election Fraud (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-JbIJ4_CUE)

So if you are going to caucus tomorrow then you better document it by camera or camcorder!!!

Like I mentioned in another thread, consider carpooling with your friends! Similar to how it's easier to be motivated to work out at the gym when you have a friend, it'll be more motivating for those who are on the fence about whether they will go! People procrastinate and get lazy, but with a little nudge, we can have an excellent turn out!

+10

Remember, caucuses are social events (unlike primaries) and how you dress/act will influence people!

And don't forget to talk to / bring along EVERY Ron Paul supporter you know!

Make at least two sets of trips if you can. Treat one crew to an early dinner before driving them down, drop them off, then pick up the other group, and treat them to LATE dinner or drinks after the caucus. Stress guaranteed food or beer for those reluctant to come!

Here comes the Patton in me:

"You Iowa people are not going to hold a god damned thing. Your going to keep advancing against the enemy, all the time. Flood the caucus with so many supporters that it pukes from between the ears of the other candidates. Make them neocon bastards realize their worse nightmare has just begun, and do not for one minute let up on kicking the shit out of them. Make them beg their god for mercy from the never ending onslaught of angry freedom loving Americans.."

hahaha, that was fun...

I am kind of new with this, what is "ELECT DELEGATES" mean? Thanks.

There will be several different things to vote on in the Caucuses. The two most important are the "straw poll" where you will vote on which candidate you support, and the "delegate election" where you will vote to elect people as delegates to cast the real votes for the primary. It's very important that you vote on BOTH of these separate votes. Don't just vote in the straw poll and then leave.

Straw poll: is an unofficial measure of who had the most supporters at the caucus. This is what is reported immediately to the media and it's important because this is what the media will use to report the "winners of the Iowa Caucuses. By winning this, Ron Paul can be shown as a serious and viable candidate.

Delegate Elections: This is the one that isn't publicized as much, but actually officially counts toward who gets Iowa's votes for the primary. You'll be voting on people to be DELEGATES, not for the acutal candidates themselves. It's important that you find out which potential delegates will vote for Ron Paul and vote them all in. To find this out contact HQ or your local meetup.

In the past, people have voted in the straw poll, then left the caucus before the delegate vote thinking that they had already done their part. The result is that their candidate didn't really get credit for their votes.
