I heard reports that Thompson has not even made the ballot in several states so is he a dead duck at this point? Why does he still have supporters?

He's waiting for his next cue from the CFR.

I ask because I think I convert a few Thompson supporters to our side if I can show he's out of it.

He still has supporters who view the other candidates as too liberal.

Iowa is make or break for him. If he gets third then he will ride a wave of free press into NH and steal a lot of McCain and Huckabee support that he lost a while back.

But he is broke and can not survive failure in Iowa and NH.

If I'm not mistaken Thompson is scheduled to take the lead next week. I just got the memo.

It would not shock me to see Fred do well in Iowa, he is pretty popular here in Arkansas, in my mind, he's our main competition.

He's not mathematically eliminated, he has barely missed any ballots.

If he finishes behind Paul in Iowa he'll get out because he WANTS to get out.

QFT, Thompson has his share of supporters in the South.

What ballots did he not make?

He is the main competition here in Tennessee.

He's going to finish behind Paul in New Hampshire, and probably will in Iowa also. If Huckabee does well in Iowa, he'll steal Thompson's thunder in South Carolina. At that point, Thompson will have long been finished. Not enough votes or money means it's time to get out.

Considering how much he's been disrespected by the mainstream media, and that he's the only "top-tier" candidate I like, I hope he endorses Paul if he drops out. He doesn't seem all that enthusiastic about the war, and other than that probably is a conservative at heart.

I had high hopes Tancredo would endorse Paul, but when he chose to endorse "evil" again I doubt Thompson would go to Paul.

Thompson's finished.

He'll probably get 5th in Iowa and and sixth in New Hampshire. After that all his support will dry up.

Right now he's barely holding third in Iowa and he being beat by Paul in New Hampshire. Here's some polls to look at:

Thompson supporters might be ripe for the picking. Don't know if it means anything, but whenever I've taken those "Pick your candidate" based on your views, Thompson is the next closest Repub. Granted, it's about 1/20 of my matchup w/ RP, but hey it's there.

I don't think mathematics and Fred Thompson have anything to do with each other.

What ballots did he not make?

I know that he missed Delaware and Rhode Island. He might miss Texas.
