......will do much better than polls indicate in SC, because he has very enthusiastic supporters who aren't polled because of cell phones.

This was just on CNN late edition.

Senator Graham is sucking up. Ron Paul signs are everywhere down here and South Carolinians have been eagerly waiting to vote Lindsay Graham out of office since he tried to shove that amnesty bill down our throats. He needs to make nice in a hurry, but it ain't gonna work on this voter.

Lindsey Graham, the Senator from South Carolina was on Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer a few minutes ago. I happened to be watching it. He came to talk about McCain, whom he supports, but actually mentioned Dr. Paul in the interview.

Sen. Graham said quote "We'll see. I think uh the movement out there of Ron Paul is probably pretty hard to track so I wouldn't be surprised if he does better than polling numbers because his people are very committed and y'know polling doesn't have cell phone numbers yet, so we'll see how well that goes. I really don't know about Iowa. I do know that John is moving in New Hampshire very well."

Then he talks more about McCain. I was really stunned because it was kinda random. Graham was asked about McCain and he went and talked about Paul, agreeing that the polls don't show RP's true support levels.

I'd youtube it if I knew how.

I think SC is a toss-up with Huckabee. If Paul beats Huck in Iowa and New Hampshire, SC is a shoe in.

That was a HUGE admission. And was completely unsolicited by Wolf. Graham just volunteered the info. That is the first time I've seen an opponent voluntarily talk about Ron Paul. Big things are about to stir, boys and girls. Big things, indeed.

Interesting. Graham is a senior backer of McCain so certainly Paul has been discussed in the campaign's war rooms. McCain should do no worse than fourth in Iowa and I don't think it hurt him too much because he really hasn't put much time or effort into campaigning there. I'm sure their concern is a good Paul showing will hurt McCain in New Hampshire among independents.

We'll see what happens...

If they are the first and only ones to publicly admit that Ron Paul might actually beat out a few of the frontrunners, it will make them look much more educated and aware of whats going on during this election than the other candidates, who have completely ignored Ron Paul's widespread support.

Mark

Shocking - maybe he believes in being honest.

Or, maybe he's trying to get the other candidates to address Ron's REAL strength and go on the attack
instead of just ignoring him and dragging each other down to Ron's advantage.

I hate L Grahm. He is a warmonger and whenever he debates with someone, he just talks over them instead of putting out cohesive arguments. Kinda like O'Lieley

Micahyah
12-30-2007, 06:48 PM
wow.

Their internals must show that Paul is at least in 3rd in Iowa.

They are probably trying to soften the blow of McCain losing to Paul in Iowa.

I can see Fred, McCain, and Giuiliani having to spend all day Jan 4 explaining why they lost to the supposed fringe candidate.

It doesn't take a genious to understand that Lindsey just read the political tea leaves and wants to be on record as having said something nice about Ron Paul.

Ron Paul backers really need to clean house in SC and get rid of him! He is bad news. I know this is not the right thread to post this in because he just said something nice, but want everyone properly warned that we are going to see more and more of this the better we do. There are some real problems we need to address. Lindsey is one of them IMO.

If Paul comes in 5th in Iowa, it will be deemed a failure.
If Paul comes in 4th, it will be deemed neither a success nor failure.
If Paul comes in 3rd, it will be deemed a success.
If Paul comes in 2nd, it will be deemed an amazing success.
If Paul comes in 1st, martial law will be declared!

than the other candidates, who have completely ignored Ron Paul's widespread support. LOL the other candidates aren't ignoring how well RP is doing. You can bet they're paying VERY close attention. Especially when they see his coffers fill up while their's runs dry. When his grassroots organization is heated up and visible while they have to scramble to get their slim jims distributed. Oh no, they're very aware of RP and it chaps their hide.

I was talking to the SC Coordinator tonight as we were leaving the office. He said he talked to a guy one time who told him a story about Lindsey Graham at a conference years ago. As the story goes, Graham got up to speak, and he actually started talking about monetary policy and how the Fed was effing things up with a fiat system. Nobody in the room knew what he was talking about except for like 15 Birchers in the back of the room. After he spoke, the guy went up to Graham and asked him what he thought of Ron Paul. Apparently, Graham had nothing but the absolutely best things to say about him.

Graham's saying nice things about RP has nothing to do with politics. He has a genuine admiration for the man. They did serve together in the House, btw. I have a pretty good idea of who Graham would be supporting if McCain were not in the race.
