Ava had it's first Ron Paul meeting Saturday night. We picked a local restaurant to gather at because I expected half a dozen people to show up.
As it turned out, we had to have a last-minute venue change because of the crowd that turned out. Folks came from as far away as Cabool. Everyone was well informed and eager to get to work. In about 12 hours we will be canvassing the county seat (Ava, where I live).
The next meeting in Ava will be January 7th at 6:30 PM at Jean's on the square. There is a rally planned for January 25th in Mountain View at the community center, from 5 - 10 PM. Rep. Jim Guest will be there along with other speakers including the organizer of the Springfield meetup.
Gainesville will have its own meetup group shortly, and Del Davis of Norwood will launch additional groups in Seymour, Hartville, Marshfield and Lebanon.
Our overall aim is to ensure that the precinct caucuses are filled with Ron Paul supporters. Our state delegates are "released" after the first vote at the September convention, so even if RP does not win the popular vote in Missouri, we will still have the majority of delegates.
