Not to mention Tancredo and Brownback supporters will likely end up in Dr. Ron's camp as soon as they drop(which they will).

No, they are likely to go to another pro war neocon carbon copy of the same message, ie Romney, Thompson.

Ron just has to make it clear what HE would do to combat terrorism. He is seen as weak on this issue right now by a lot of people and he is not. But, they're not going to find this out by osmosis. He needs to put together a well laid out few soundbytes that will make American people understand that he is tough on national defense.

Not necessarily. I know a lot of "minor" candidate supporters are that way because they want someone consistently pro-life. Romney is a flip-flopper, Rudy is not at all, and McCain is not entirely. They could go to Fred, but his stances are still unclear on many issues right now.

I agree Dr. Paul will pick up most of Tancredo's (immigration related) and Brownback's (pro-lifer) support.

I singled out Tancredo and Brownback specifically because their support does not come from Neo's but rather from ultra devoted single issue voters who have nowhere to go but to RP.

And when Tommy Thompson drops, his half a percent will go to whatever candidate champions the cause of eliminating some wierd obscure vaccine storage program.

Which might be Ron Paul, if that program is federally funded.

I think that we might get some of the Tancredo voters, but they're Hawks. They might end up in Thompson's camp.

19% undecided is awesome for us.

I guarantee that more than 19% are undecided. Most people don't really have a very strong feeling about their candidate of choice one way or another. The majority of people are easily swayed by promises by the candidates and rarely have a mind of their own. If McCain supporters see him drop out of the race, his supporters will spread themselves out over the remainder of the field. If Ron Paul can hang in long enough, he can defeat the competition by having a better message and by attrition.

Keep in mind that the tide is turning on the war in a major way. Unless Chertoff's "gut-feeling" is right about us being attacked again this summer, I would expect several of the Republican candidates to start changing their stance on the war. Ron will be looking very good at this point, but he simply must get out there what HIS stance is on providing national defense. He can't be seen as a weakling.

I believe that SB. 0625 has just passed in Michigan or is at least past the House and Senate and will go into law soon.

This bill closes the GOP primary and set the date as Feb 5, 2008.

Michigan was once an open primary state, but with the passage of this bill.... well you had better get registered Republican if you are in Michigan and want to vote for Ron in the Republican primary.

Check it yourself.

You might want to post this as an ALERT in a new thread so the Michigan folks can react to it.
Thanks for digging up this info.
