Bush is an asshole.
When he left his questioning by the 9/11 commission (which he never wanted to do) he said something like :
"I'm glad I did it. I'm glad I took the time. This is an important commission, and it's important that they ask the questions they ask so that they can help make recommendations necessary to better protect our homeland. It was -- I enjoyed it."
It was .... FUN ?
Bush was never elected president, he stole both elections. The man shouldn't be counted as having been our president. Let's count him as a dictator.

I saw that. I was very shy as a kid, and very awkward at 13. I could have been that girl, and I can almost promise you that no matter how he tried to smooth it over, she's scarred.
I notice he didn't publicly apologize to her.

I don't think it was that bad, it was probably the reaction of her parents' neo-con friends laughing that got to her.

I don't think her age matters. Bush makes grown men cry!

It probably wasn't that bad - being shy just sucks and he could not have known. He did appear to be concerned about her feelings.

Yeah, I think the crowd was laughing at the somewhat sarcastic remark, but the girl, being shy to speak to the president in front a crowd, misconstrued the remark and the laughter as being directed toward her. I didn't see any malintent here. He seemed genuinely concerned about her feelings and wanted to right the situation.

GWB was just trying to save face. The one thing that phony conservatives (i.e. neo-crappers) can't do is ridicule white women/girls. That's what they call in the suburbs--bad business.

I'm surprised he didn't order the girl taken outside for being disruptive.

I heard she got him back though.
