Now I am going to toot my own horn. I just returned from plastering every light pole in two popular entertainment districts here in Milwaukee with 101, thats one-hundred-and-one "Google RON PAUL" notices.
I am a small-L libertarian when it comes to Washington. Voted for big-L Harry Browne, voted for big-L Ed Thompson like nearly a third of the rest of the state. Cringed while voting Kerry to get rid of Bush, happily voted for Dem US Senator Feingold for standing up to the Patriot Act.
WHY DID IT TAKE UNTIL DECEMBER 22nd TO REACH ME WITH THE RON PAUL MESSAGE?
Now, I understand most everyone from here, especially Milwaukee, tends to like our "progressive" nature and "small-s socialist" leanings. I don't particularly go for it, but for all of you who do just think of the cradle-to-grave paradise you could build keeping those Washington tax dollars here. Maybe in our three-month summers they could mow the grass in the county parks again. Or shovel the damn sidewalks and intersections so the elderly don't have to hole up all winter. Or fix the laughable school district. Or fund a high-speed rail line to Chicago - our greatest asset - to get highly-paid commuters up here to buy the plethora of condos we built.
Keeping those Federal dollars here helps us when we need it most. We rank nearly lowest in the return of Federal dollars to our state. We have one tiny Army base, and a handful of Air Force installations. No big employment centers like IRS. Decrepit, molasses-slow Amtrak service on Tier II equipment that we and Illinois primarily fund anyways.
Wisconsin - Vote in the February primaries, if your a Dem you can switch back for the real election... if you still want to by then, that is
Wisconsin - Get involved - go to meetup.com and join a local group
Wisconsin - Show a little love for the candidate running on Ed Thompson-like libertarian principles
Wisconsin - ELECT RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENT
Now go out and staple "Google RON PAUL" all over the place.
