Anybody else watching Smackdown? Was that not a blatant plug for Hillary or what?

The McMahons are Republicans and I believe they're supporting Rudy Giuliani.

The Wwe has sucked since the the early 90s. The golden age of wrestling was the 80s. "84-87"

McMahon looks more and more culturally marxist every show. No wonder ratings have crashed and attendences are down. I noticed they darken the upper levels now.

I never watched it after the 80s. It was called the WWF then.

Besides that, we know it's FAKE, right?

I know there are some wrestlers who in real life support Ron paul and I remember reading about Val Venis being a libertarian many years ago.

But I dont think anything that happens on a wrestling "show" matters as far as politics goes.

the golden age of wrestling was the texas league in the 1970s. of course mexican wrestling is pretty cool still today.

Stampede Wrestling was THE organization that propelled the WWF to its successes. The Hart Foundation, and the Hart family, are nearly soley responsible for the success of WWE!

I use to watch WWE/WWF too. I lost interest when Vince went off and started XFL.

You mean those little luchadors? Some people like that. Others can't stand it.

I liked old school Wwf, nwa, wccw, uwf, awa, etc.

From what I have seen of the quality today, people are getting ripped off. It's barely watchable. I'm sure todays fan is the giuliani type. Not the discerning viewer.

The Tna wrestling organization is Garbage. Poor storylines, no planned out angles and a ridiculous ring. They are the wwe-lite. In fact they are so bad, they can't even travel the country and do telecasts. Both tna and wwe are piss poor. Wrestling just isn't the same anymore. They were all doing well in 96 but things crashed again.

They were doing a segment about how some wrestlers went to Iraq for Christmas, as they usually do, and then suddenly Hillary appeared on the screen with "Hillary Clinton (D)" under her. I thought it was actually a commercial break and this was a commercial for her campaign. She started talking about the Christmas season and how all Americans support the troops blah blah blah. It was only when she inserted a comment about how Americans of all political persuasions (wink wink, I'm not trying to get your vote, wink wink) support them that it was clear to me this wasn't a commercial and was part of Smackdown itself! Mr. McMahon is no dummy. Of all the people he could have chosen to film that segment, aired less than a week before the primary, why did he choose her? I smelled a rat.

Stone Cold Steve Austin's era was the peak of wrestling. After 1999 I'd say, along with the rise of Triple H, the WWF died.
