Yep, there are definitely many inaccuracies taught in public schools. That's one of my biggest issues with the federal gov being in control of schools.

It isn't even the facts that is causing the reaction-- it is an emotional reaction because HOW DARE Dr. Paul even utter the word slavery. Thus you have a media reporting the emotional argument rather than by using logic.

The Article is hilarious and uses only cherry-picked examples...what about the historical facts like:
- Lincoln proposing the "Corwin Amendment" which prevents the federal government from abolishing slavery
- Lincoln constantly told General Fremont (an anti-slavery general) not to free the slaves and replaced him when he did free them
- Lincoln prohibited his generals from freeing slaves even in captured territories
- Lincoln himself says "If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it"
- Lincoln also said "I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race"

I feel so stupid about American history. Not only because I vaguely remember anything that the public school system taught me, but also because that of which I do remember is nothing close to factual.

I need to relearn American/World history by myself. If I ever have kids, they will be home schooled. I cannot allow my child to go through what I went through.
