this speech is important since it fights accusations of racism and shows his strong anti-war pacifist views

That was great.

It is interesting that the resolution did not mention what Ron Paul brought up: Ali's principled opposition to preemptive war and the draft.

From the wikipedia article:

Appearing for his scheduled induction into the U.S. Armed Forces on April 28, 1967 in Houston, he refused three times to step forward at the call of his name. An officer warned him he was committing a felony punishable by five years in prison and a fine of $10,000. Once more Ali refused to budge when his name was called.

That day, the New York State Athletic Commission suspended his boxing license and stripped him of his title. Other boxing commissions followed suit.

At the trial two months later, the jury, after only 21 minutes of deliberation, found Ali guilty. The judge imposed the maximum sentence. After a court of appeals upheld the conviction, the case went to the U.S. Supreme Court.

This is the kind of work we need to be doing. We need to go back into RP's record and find all of the words and actions that will combat this nascent racism issue. Because it WILL be blown as big as possible. We need the facts to show how unfounded it is.

I almost want someone to make a web page of facts on the "Ron Paul and race" issue.

Thanks, Alex! Great work.

I always thought that, and my father did too. I have to confess I laughed when it
was in the "Coming to America" movie too. Cashes Clay, thats what the man was born with, thats what it is. Cashes Clay.

FYI: I remember watching him as a little kid before he changed his name.

Your submissions would actually have a chance of hitting the front page if you weren't putting those numbers at the start of the titles.
