Great idea. We need to do this. The free advertising will be HUGE. UNFATHOMABLE. However, I bet we will need to hide our signs until the 11:30 until the ball drops. If we have a ton of Ron Paul signs all day the police might ask us to lose the signs or leave. They wont do this if we wait until the last hour. Ron Paul supporters will also need to get there early and be there all day to get in the best spots where the TV will cover.

If your all bunched up in some corner it won't have any affect. They just won't show that corner on TV. But if the whole crowd is saturated...it will look like the whole thing is a ron paul rally.

The people who attend the ball drop aren't in their 80's so it's a good chance that many in the crowd might ALREADY be supporters anyways, they might not know it yet.

Early in NY that night means around 10 am. Seriously. But I love this idea. And yes, we need to be spread out all over the crowd. People need to hold up huge Ron Paul signs - at least 2 x 4 and please make sure they say RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENT! I am still answering the question, who is he, what is he running for?

But they always show the crowd on New Year's eve.

I have been there then and I can tell you expect to be packed in shoulder to shoulder, every part of your body touching the person in front of you. Perhaps to keep your arms from getting tired, you could put the sign flat side up on a pole, so it can be read easily from above. That way you can just hold the pole all night and not have to raise your arms all evening.

We need every supporter from the tri state area to come down and support him and get there early. It would be great if we could start and be there around 10 am, yes, I know that mean in the morning, and be in a bunch in a center and then spread out as the crowds come in. That way we will have people spread from the center on out. One year I tried to get there around 10pm and couldn't get within 25 blocks of Times Square.

What about these 8x6in battery operated flashing lighted signs stuck on one head by a hat. Hundreds of these would sure show up and media would just have do close ups to see them and they will be visible in the dark. Tho not alot of time to order, if at all. Maybe if in stock a bulk order to one shipping site. On sale LED lights at Kmart could also be made into battery inverter signs quickly?

People are more than welcome to stop by to coordinate, grab signs, drop off stuff, etc before hitting Times Square and also to crash there that night.

That's right... if you are from out of state, you can crash there for the night!!!!!

There are beds/couches than can sleep about 20, but they aren't the cleanest couches you've seen (think "frat house"). Another 40 or so can sleep on the floor if they bring sleeping bags, air mattresses. But be forewarned - it gets COLD at night.

Also, I'll ask around and see if any NYers can house a stranger or two that night.


Additionally, if you guys can arrange it, why not carpool up to NH on the morning of the 1st and stay with Vijay in OLFD for a few days?

While this is a super creative idea, please bear in the mind the following: Having been in a VIP section at the Times Square New Year's Eve celebration two years ago, I noticed that the masses were herded behind police barriers on side streets, unseen by the cameras. The VIPs are the people you see in the street on camera.

Also, please remember that the NYC cops act more like the military now and may remove anyone carrying signs since this is a television event covered by big corporation-owned media conglomerates.

"The Producer" and I are in the NYC one....

We have an after party set up... a pre-party space to drop off any supplies/sleeping bags, etc.

A lot of the hardcore NYers will be driving up to NH this weekend to canvass, but should be returning to the city Sunday or Monday in time for NYE.

Ideally we'll bring some of Vijay's OLDF soldiers back with us for NYE!!!

We're working on a Ron Paul free market monopoly game.
The game site itself won’t be up for New Years, but the design for
the money can be.

It's going to look like monopoly money, but with a Ron Paul design,
with 2 sides or 2 mini-pages depending on how you decide to print it
out, and the 2nd page will each have 1 monetary issue from Ron Paul's
writing.

What about these 8x6in battery operated flashing lighted signs stuck on one head by a hat. Hundreds of these would sure show up and media would just have do close ups to see them and they will be visible in the dark. Tho not alot of time to order, if at all. Maybe if in stock a bulk order to one shipping site. On sale LED lights at Kmart could also be made into battery inverter signs quickly?

Any one from NY that might know the best type of slim jim to pass out that night? Any one from NY that know of offices, on Times Square, that might let a banner be put up in a window facing Times Square for the one night? Finding three or 4 receptive offices for large banners would help. A million people, in one location, to get a slim jim in their hands, is an awesome opportunity. If there are many signs in the crowd, they might take the slim jim and read it while waiting for the ball to drop. Get them in hands that are receptive.

If the crowd gets there early, it gives more time to get slim jims in their hands.

take alot of extra signs if you can and hand them out......i sure hope no huck or mitt supporters do this and try to block rp signs...rp supporter and buzzing from bevarages= a lot of people getting hurt on the oppisite campaign i do believe and bad media press for rp.....
