I think we need to build the performance in Des Moines on 6/30... but with more locals in the crowd, so that we don't become accused of just being a roving band of people following Dr Paul around! This is an old idea, but it really works, because of the power of personal testimonial. Observe:
First, we get some basic letter sized papers, they don't need to be fancy.

One side, we pre-print with name and addresses of possible voters. This would just be a quick mail merge, and not highly polished. If 80% are right, good enough. The goal is response speed, after Ron commits to a date and a location. So in this example, assume Paul is going to a rally in Greenville July 21...

Now flip the page over. There would be a pre-printed invitation there, specific to the event in mind.

Imagine a group of supporters gathered at a table. They have different kinds of pens, pencils, and art crayons available. Mike puts a personal appeal on the page. (I think these should be a little wordier, and maybe take 30 seconds to write, but I'm just trying to illustrate.)

Then Lyle adds his appeal to Mike's.

Then Steve carefully prints an appeal, tailored to his issue and feelings.

Now Rachel adds one more.

All that's left now, is to fold, tape the edges, and stamp. A kid could do that. Then take the letters to the post office.

Voila! A simple, but attention grabbing mailing effort. It could be run from almost anyone's living room. All that needs to be done is for someone moderately savvy with mail merges to create the initial letters... and it could be done with very basic equipment. FedEx the box of papers to the supporters, and let them get busy! :)
I really do think this kind of effort can pay off. Admit it. What do you do with mass mail? YOU TOSS IT IN THE TRASH!
These are simple lettergrams that will get attention and be opened. No need for return mail, no need for fancy literature. It's all about getting people interested in Dr. Paul and showing up for him when he comes to town.
