We're only a few days away from our trip to New Hampshire and we need help now if we're going to be able to go! There are 5 of us planning on heading up from Maryland to New Hampshire from January 4th through January 9th to support him up to the primary! We are all college students so we are unable to afford the trip and we're sacrificing our jobs for the week to head up so the only way we can afford to go is if the generous RP community can support us! We have a chipin linked below that will help us get there! Merry Christmas and thanks to anyone who can help out!

http://olfdtrip.chipin.com/live-free-or-die-trip

Thanks!

Budget:
Cost of 4 plane tickets - $773
Cost of 2 Car Rentals for 6 Days - $320
Cost of Food/Drink - ~$180
-----------------
Total - ~$1260
Total Raised: $476.66
Total Needed: $783.34

Why do you need TWO rental cars? Can't you get by on one?

rooteroa
12-26-2007, 09:45 AM
We could, but considering there's 5 of us we can cover a lot more ground if we split into 2 groups.

I just checked this:
You can get plane tickets from BWI Maryland, to Manchester, NH on Southwest Airlines for $92 on the 4th and get back for $59 on the 9th.

I'd recommend shopping around a little more.

I already purchased the 4 tickets - btw, using your pricing method the total comes out to $681.20 for the 4 tickets so its only a little bit of savings but I didn't want to wait till the last minute to lock in tickets.

I know you've already bought the plane tickets... but why didn't you just rent two cars in Maryland and drive them to New Hampshire? Even if you're driving from the west end of the state, around Cumberland, it's only about 550 miles and easily drivable in less than a day.

As it is, I'll kick in a little and give you a BUMP!

Thanks for campaigning for Ron Paul!

Thank you! The main reason was I already had a free ticket for myself and since I organized it my friends didn't want to drive up separately... but I do feel a bit dumb after hearing you say that because that probably would have made more sense... as it is this was kind of hastily planned, it was originally just supposed to be me going.

Anyways thanks, we are halfway there!

Is there something wrong with the chip-in site? I sent in a $25 contribution a couple hours ago, but it's still not showing up on the graph. (I did get a receipt from PayPal)

Anyone else contribute and notice this?

I received it! It does seem to take a few hours to update.

EDIT: It's definitely in the tally - went from $476.66 to $501.66

thanks a lot!

Or rent the two cars in Maryland and drive to NH. You can rent two cars with unlimited mileage for a week at about $550. Gas to get there & back would run roughly $200

Well, if they're not non-refundable, you can always change your plans.

For Christmas this year you can give Ron Paul the gift of even more volunteers in New Hampshire! There are 5 of us planning on heading up from Maryland to New Hampshire from January 2nd through January 9th to support him up to the primary! We are all college students so we are unable to afford the trip and we're sacrificing our jobs [] for the week to head up so the only way we can afford to go is if the generous RP community can support us! We have a chipin linked below that will help us get there! Merry Christmas and thanks to anyone who can help out!

To me it sounds like giving some students
a Christmas present rather than Ron Paul.

So what exactly ? will your support look like?,
what are your and your friends concrete plans?

Not sure what problem the previous poster has, but I definitely disagree with he use of increased font sizes.

Anyhow, just threw in $200, so you're almost there.

Thanks a lot Ofer! Incredible support on here.

Also, to the people asking why I don't refund the tickets (they are non-refundable) - you do realize that takes away 16 hours of the trip total if we drive? That time could be better spent working in NH.

Thanks everyone! We're almost there!

Hi rooteroa,

I already donated in your first donation round and would like to do so again.

But it would be great if you posted a little more about your plans, how you will be helping the campaign. I have no doubts you are dedicated and I take my hat off to you... just let us know what the battle plan is and I will surely donate again.

All the best to you and your friends!

Hey,

Well we have the tickets lined up to fly out there on the 3rd. We are going to rent 2 cars from there. A kind person from these forums is allowing us to use her house for the week so we don't have to intrude on OLFD and can leave their housing open for others. From there we plan on coordinating everything with OLFD as far as day to day operations go so we make sure we're not treading on already covered territory. Basically whatever they need us to do we'll handle.
