Gore "I hate this big evil government/We need big warm, fuzzy government to fix everything" Vidal has a few useless words to say about Ron Paul.

He recognizes the momentum of the campaign, but doesn't quite understand what it means or where it's coming from. Plus, he gets some facts wrong. One being that the campaign organized the Tea Party event instead of it being a bottoms-up effort.

I think he likes Dr. Paul, but he hasn't figured out why. Think we can convert him? Socialists for Ron Paul? That'd make me swallow my gum.

I think socialists actually SHOULD support RP. Repealing the inflation tax, eliminating the debt, and letting the free market take over actually would actually lessen social stratification, and provide greater advancement opportunities for the lower classes.

It wouldnt promise total equality and it wouldnt be any good for people who refused to work, but it would get us closer to the dream behind socialism (total elimination of the class system) than the method socialists actually propose we use to achieve this goal (government)

That was very strange. He seems really out of it, to me.

Yes, but a socialist inherently believes that they can attain their goal, greater opportunities for the lower classes and less social stratification, through economic force. They're like the pro-war hawks of the economy... using misguided force to blugeon people over the head in the name of security and prosperity, hoping to get their end result by a means that they never could achieve it with.

hey you can be a socialist and still support ron paul

so long as you understand that your silly socialist policies should be kept within the boundaries of your Homestate and not applied to the Federal Government

very strange indeed. There were a lot of edits to this discussion. Vidal must have spaced out alot. Either that or he had a poodle in his lap that he kept stroking its private parts whispering, "you're a good democrat. yes you are. gooood democrat."

Ok. Obviously I need to go to bed now. Getting loopy. night all.
