for some reason i think its not that "mini" lol.
it looks like it can actually lift a person if its filled with helium or so :)

How much does it cost, roughly, to fill with helium?
If the cost to deflate and refill between uses is prohibitive, can it be kept full (with small top-offs as necessary), and can it be transported in filled state in a U-Haul type 20' or 24' straight truck?

It looks like one of those arena blimps that spits out free things at sporting events.

The blimp measures 20' long and has a volume of 370 cubic feet of helium. It comes with a light kit that allows us to illuminate it at night, a 120 ft. tether and electric cord, a helium fill hose, and artwork on both sides. The cost was $1642. Not included was shipping (about $80) and helium, which we will have to buy locally and have to recharge the blimp with about once every 10 days for $150-$200. We purchased it from Arizona Balloon Company in Glendale, AZ. So far, we are about 2/3 of the way there to cover our costs and have some left over for helium, etc.
The blimp is floating next to high-traffic location. I'll let u guys know what kind of response we get.
-About 40 people from our meet up group donated about 50 bucks and raised the money in no time.
I hope every meet up group out there considers this.
Thanks Elizabeth for setting up this project!

There not cheap and require calm wind conditions. I would think tethered is just fine and alot cheaper.

Imagine if every meetup in each city had one of these things. You wouldn't have to track them by GPS, you wouldn't have to try to predict the path in order to get a glimpse, and you wouldn't have to worry about a moneypit situation.

Please post photos when it you get it up in the air on the tether. Great work. Kudos.
Amazing too, how ideas generate new ideas. Blimp = smaller blimps.

Can you get it to a MeetUp in WA after Super Tuesday? And then to OR after the 2/19 primary? How fast can you get one complete with the art work delivered to your door? Thanks.

The Ron Paul San Diego mini-blimp pays off with a television interview of our fearless Meetup leader Mike Benoit.
The blimpette has been proudly flying in a super high-visibility area near downtown SD - it was irresistible to the local TV newscritters.
Nice work people!
