Not sure how these graphs work but it says there were 88 donations today above the numbers you provided and 15 new donors if you go to todays graph, by clicking donor maps and then todays donor map.

http://www.ronpaulgraphs.com/donors_today.html

That shows 16 new donors today.

http://paulcash.slact.net/

This shows 86 total donors, I'm not sure why that other graph is showing what it is showing, just pointing out these other methods of looking.

I don't think the numbers on ronpaulgraphs are entirely accurate. The donor numbers are sometimes a little off of the numbers shown on the official site.

We depend on donors like you to help us spread the message of freedom, peace and prosperity through Ron Paul’s candidacy.

You will receive an email shortly with a confirmation number

Something is wrong with the number of new donations. I just donated and I was counted as a new donor. I am not a new donor.

To RonPaulGraphs, "new donors" are poeple who they don't have recorded yet. So they all could be old donors....or they all could be new. Who knows?

Everything was exactly the same.

what counts as a new donor? New CC info, or a different name in the widget?
If I donated once with a salutation and once without, would their database say 2 donors?

FYI that donor map says "captured donors" - it refers to the names that are broadcast on the widget, which is the only place that lists a town/state, which is what is used for the map on that page

since the widget does not show the names of everyone who donated that number will always be less than the number of actual donors for the day

and I don't think any knows what qualifies someone as a 'new' donor, perhaps someone could ask...

This came up some time ago and the explanation that was given was this.
When donations are made they take a certain % and check against previous donors.
That number in % is used to determine how many new donors there are.
This may not be correct, just what I recall.
Also, this figure will be less correct the more donors that there are as the # checked will be less of a sample.

I've found that both Ron Paul Graphs and Paul Cash do not match figures with the official campaign's widget. It's the latter that I always go by, now that it includes numbers for weekly donors, new donors, etc. (Click the little arrows under the large quarterly number to view.)
