Ron Paul has a solid bedrock of support and little by little the numbers are rising. Ron Paul is rising. The national fervor is rising. To all in IOWA: whatever you are doing, keep doing it. It is working big time.

Ya kinda wonder if these pollsters will start trying to find ways to either hit Paul's supporters or just simply raise Paul's mutliplier because you know they don't want to look stupid on election day.

Very Interesting. This means he's got 10% of land line talkers....so by my calculations that should give Paul around 40%.:)

We are so going to win this thing if hes that high with 2004 republicans. Just think we have more independents and democrats than republicans now.

Awesome! This was during the weekend of the infomercials. Plus those grassroots TV ads should be on the air. There are also about 250 students coming in to help out this Friday. The numbers will only go up. 26% among independents as well. A 3rd place finish is very likely and 2nd is in sight.

Ron Paul Will Win

By my calculations Paul took the 1% from Tancredo, took 2% from Thompson, and 3% from McCain.

Hopefully the chaos of McCain and Huckabee suddenly surging, Giuliani and Thompson falling, and Romney's strategy falling apart will help usher in Ron Paul for the win.

we more than doubled since the last poll! is that in a week? a month?
Either way, more than doubling on a land line telephone poll tells us something, we are starting to reach even the MSM masses. We may "peak" (relative to where we have been, not in the long run) right before these important dates coming in IA and NH!

He was endorsed by the Des Moines Register, Boston Globe, Boston Herald, and Manchester Union-Leader, which led to loads of positive MSM coverage.

He was really high at the beginning of the year. Also remember he already canvassed the state 8 years ago,

Wow, this is from an ARG poll, the poll that typically has Paul lower than every other poll. If they have him at 10% than he's probably really at 20%.

That's 10% of "Likely voters." These people who are included in the polls are Republicans who voted for George Bush in the last Republican primaries. People who voted for the most part to show their support for the Iraq war. Voter turnout was only 6.6%.

If Ron Paul is getting 10% of them, imagine what his numbers are with the rest of the voters.

This is a good sign.

I predict surprise attack.

And Huckster will have his little visit with Tim Russert next Sunday, which can only "improve" his numbers. LOL.

The powers that be tried on McCain, then Giuliani, then Romney, then Thompson, and most recently Huckabee. Now they're back to McCain. They'll have tried on Hunter at least once before this is all said and done.

Holy Crud He is at 26% among independents in this poll!

McCain is #1 among independents at 31% and Paul is 2nd at 26%!

My understanding is that they give independents a lower chance of actually showing up to vote than the republicans. So again our turnout is going to be much stronger than is being calculated. Overall Huckabee is winning at 23%, if we can get up maybe 3% more in official polls where we have about 13%, verses front runner at 20% I actually think we can win accounting for our higher turnout and inherent poll bias against Paulites.

I think Iowa is actually winnable, long shot but winnable.

How are independents treated in Iowa during the primaries?

The caucuses are open... however a person must give up their independent status to vote in one of the caucuses... they've got to affiliate. That's a scary idea to a lot of independents here.

Yah, (and I was in this boat) BUT I can drop a registration form in the mail after the caucus changing it right back.

This is very significant coming from American Research Group... Their polling has been horrendously low on Paul... This almost makes me believe that he's upper teens given how terrible their polls have been!

Iowa is ours.

Multiply that 10% number by three and we get 30% of people who will actually PARTICIPATE in the caucuses, minimum.

It would be best if Huckabee doesn't slide below Romney. If Huckabee bests Romney in Iowa, his momentum will be muted going into New Hampshire, where Huck can't seem to connect with the state. However, if Romney ends up besting Huckabee in Iowa, Mitt's momentum will probably carry him into a big win in New Hampshire.

That is unless over the course of the next week we gain another 6 points out of no where like the current poll today just showed. Maybe we do have a shot at Iowa?
