Gulfport Sign Ordinance

(r) political campaign signs:

(1) Such signs may be placed on private property, with the consent of the owner or tenant thereof, in all zoning districts within the city.

(2) Such signs shall not be tacked, nailed, painted, posted, or affixed in any manner on trees, utility poles, fences, rocks, and other such supporting structures.

(3) Such signs shall not be located on public property or public right-of-way.

(4) Candidates who qualify for any election shall remove their signs no later than seven (7) days after any election is certified as being official by the secretary of state or any political party, whichever first occurs.

(5) In the event of violation of this subsection, the political candidate will be held responsible. The penalty will be as set forth in section 9-78.


Gautier Political Sign Ordinance
(c) Any political sign or poster not exceeding twelve (12) square feet erected on property by the owner thereof or with the property owner's consent pertaining to a candidacy or issue to be voted upon at any election or referendum, provided such sign or poster shall not be erected more than sixty (60) days prior to such election or referendum and shall be removed within thirty (30) days after referendum, or last such election in which the candidate is eligible.


Ocean Springs Sign Ordinance
(b) The placement of any handbills, posters, circulars, markings, signs or commercial or political advertising or displays upon any pole or post, tree, lamppost, fence, rock, wire, building, or other structure or devise or by any other means upon any street, sidewalk, curb, gutter or any other part of a public right-of-way or public easement for ingress and egress shall constitute a nuisance and is hereby declared to be unlawful, excepting only such signs or other markings as may be placed thereon by any federal, state or local governmental entity.

Jackson Political Sign Ordinance
Political sign: A temporary sign erected to publish the name of a candidate or to enlist votes in any official public election.

(12) Political signs, provided such signs are not located less than ten feet from any public right-of-way and shall not exceed 12 square feet in area. Political signs are not permitted in any public right-of-way and a premise shall have no more than one sign per candidate. Said signs shall be removed by the political candidate within 15 days after the election in which the person's candidacy ends. If the signs are not removed, the political candidate shall be given a 72 hour notice for such removal. The candidate shall be assessed a $100.00 fine, in addition to which shall be added a $5.00 fine for each remaining sign not removed as required herein that has to be removed by the city.
