The EPA this past week decided 17 states could not set their own tailpipe emission standards. Libertarian values need to be communicated to environmentalists, and especially environmentalists that are democrats in open caucus/primary states. It is issues like these where swing votes are won, IMO.

Ron Paul can win the votes on two issues the democrats have taken up as their platforms, the war, and global warming/the environment. Combined with his private property stance and removal of subsidies to big oil/coal, I don't think it can be argued any other candidates policies would be better for the environment.

the BIGGEST BEST THING WE CAN DO FOR THE ENVIRONMENT IS LEGALIZE HEMP
If hemp were planted on just 6% of the Arable land in the US, we could raise enough biofuel to be near self-sufficiency.
Hemp is far more environmentally friendly than Cotton
As a fooodsource, hemp is the only vegetable/plant has Protein with all 9 complete amino acids and has the rare omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids

this is also one of the best things we can do for the economies of almost all farming states (IOWA! IOWA!) and guess what- Ron Paul has introduced legislation in the house to Legalize Industrial Hemp.

SPAM THAT TO ALL THE GREENS OUT THERE!

Didn't know hemp was edible...

Do you have links for any of these claims? I have heard them before but have never done any research into it.

hemp seed can be ground into a flour, it can be used for making hemp milk... it can be used for a bottomless bag of products including Car Doors, rope, clothing, lotion, body oils, soap... so much stuff!

Dennis Kucinich actually has the most concise explanation for the uses of hemp (http://www.kucinichonline.com/pdfs/Kucinich_Hemp.pdf), but if you just google industrial hemp or "hemp bread" you'll find plenty of info.

Not finding too much scientific information but this lays out some small bits of information on the use as biodiesel; http://fuelandfiber.com/Hemp4NRG/Hemp4NRGRV3.htm

I found the paper section of this article interesting: http://www.hemptons.co.za/Uses/Industrial/Industrial.htm
