"On the Republican side, only Rudy Giuliani hit the 1,000 mark."

Is this true?

This one guy says:
"We needed 500 signatures, just got them a few days ago. We are certified on the ballot.

I cant find the link since i deleted the email but Guiliani and McCain were the only front runners on the ballot as of yesterday or two days ago. Tancredo was also on the ballot."

Rudy is the only Republican who has submitted the required 1,000 signatures (although they have not been verified); the deadline is Wednesday, December 26 (yes, in 72 hours, including 48 hours that are Christmas Eve and Christmas Day).

Check progress here: http://www.sec.state.ri.us/candidates/presidential/

The Ron Paul PCC and their penchant for putting thing off until they are crises, is going to give us all ulcers by the time the election comes around.

And that's how mistakes happen that you don't have time to correct.

Hi guys, I am a part of the Rhode Island meetup group. My understanding is that Ron Paul has the signatures needed to be on the RI Ballot. There was a meeting today to file a Declaration of candidacy.

I will send an email to the group to get a final update.

Thanks!

Here is an email update from a member of the group. As mentioned in the email below and below and this other thread - http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?p=706689, it appears the group has the signatures needed to get RP on the ballot. I will certainly keep you folks updated on the progress.

Hi Mark,

You'd have to speak to Dan or Jeremy as to the total number and I'm sure that
they will reply when they return from delivering the 300+ signatures we
collected at Warwick Mall this past Saturday. It is my understanding that the
total collected by the campaign and volunteers total well over 1000 (near or
better than 1500) and they have pretty much all been delivered to the boards of
canvassers, who will then certify them, and then forward them to the Secretary
of State.
If you want to answer the claim about Rudy's signatures, according to
the Secretary of State's website
http://www.sec.state.ri.us/candidates/presidential/ , the ONLY candidate who
shows as having the required number of certified signatures at this moment is
Barak Obama. Rudy shows as having turned in 1037 but only 85 of those are shown
as being certified (according to the list I linked to). We did well and there's
no question in my mind that Ron Paul will be on the ballot.
Merry Christmas!
Gary
