Here are some reactions from two relatives who didn't know much about Ron Paul before the interview.
1- I liked his stances and how he was able to overcome Tim when he tried to corner him.
(#1 is a regular viewer of MTP)
2- I liked his stances, but he didn't seem presidential when he was responding to his old quotes. I liked how he responded to the 3rd party question.
(#2 doesn't watch MTP)
In summary, he explained his stances well but didn't appear to be decisive when rebutting some of Tim's questions. But I think people who view MTP normally have more tolerance for sloppy answers to Tim's zingers. Either way, I think the real test will be what's quoted from MTP on other news shows. I think if they quote the 3rd party question, it could spark sympathy for Paul.
Any other outsider reactions to the interview?
