Hi Folks - I need your help over athttp://http://www.blondesense.blogspot.com/ (http://www.blondesense.blogspot.com/) in the comment section of a post I put up today "Ron Paul" -- I'm taking a pretty good beating and could use some your comments and insights. Thank you.

Troll much? Sorry for my cynicism, but with this being your 1st post, I'm guessing you're trying to drum up some business for a website?

If not, please forgive my faux pas, and welcome to the forum.

It's a legitimate blog and she does need some help in the comments.

I don't see anything wrong with it, the chick (i'm guessing) just will just need to gain more of an understanding on how real economics works. It's still pretty much pro Ron Paul.

In her/his post below...

"Ron Paul is still my man. He's just about the only hope I have to hold on to for the next year."

I think she means in the comments, heh. They were not very friendly, at least some of them weren't. Click comments after the post.

That fellow Ron does NOT have a good understanding of economics. Sorry, but you took what he said at face value without delving in deeper. I do disagree with friedmann on fiat currency, but otherwise he is right about free market economies. WHat we have now is corporatism, not a free market. The liberals on your blog obviously do not understand that. It is the same trap michael moore watchers (and MM himself) fall in to.

Sorry, JC. I posted a long one, but when I hit 'preview', it ate my post.

Maybe another time when I have some more minutes.

Nice blog. You're doing just fine, IMO.

its making a few new people feel pretty unwelcome im sure...jumping to conclusions about someone because of how many posts are next to their name is racism in a funny hat

i posted my comment on the blog...wtg to whoever wrote it

Don't let the uninformed scare you. Don't back down and don't apologize for who you are. You're doing something very brave and I'm sure you knew you might upset a few people and make a few enemies. But I think you've also made a few friends. Welcome to the forum.

and a BIG Thank you to Roxi - I was just about to make this my first and last visit here after the troll and "the chick" comment. Blows my mind EVERYDAY how people treat one another -- especially in a verbal sense. I gather from reading the many comments from supporters of Ron Paul that he has MANY conservative supporters, AND more and more liberal supporters coming out now. It's too bad people can't work together. SO MANY closed minded people. I especially see this on the right - the nastiness anyway. The lefties in general, I have to say, ARE much more compassionate and sensitive to other's feelings. Unfortunately, "dems" have been so outraged by this current republican administration -- and for good reasons as you know, that a "republican" vote is something they will not even consider -- and, I can't blame them. I don't know WHAT I am -- and IT. SHOULD. NOT. MATTER. I think Party "loyalty" needs to be taken out of the decision process for '08. This is the most important election this nation will be having. Yes, I do get the impression that Dr. Paul does have a lot of "racist" supporters and I am sure that has influenced other potential supporters in a negative way. BUT -- what people need to stop and realize is that this man is gaining the support of so many people across the board. AND -- this is what, imho, this country needs right about now -- someone who can bring together all kinds of people (nice ones, mean ones, racists, closed minded and open minded ones), i.e. THE PEOPLE -- FOR THE PEOPLE. All the other messy nonsense will work itself out

I noticed on one of your replies on Blondsense, you seemed to take at face value the comments that someone made about Milton Friedman.

I would encourage you to check Friedman out for yourself, rather than accept what someone says (who by the way presented absolutely no support for why Friedman is responsible for our economic mess) on the internet.

You may discover that it was Friedman's insights (and Volcker's political courage) that brought the US out of the stagflation of the 70s & 80s.

It was Friedman who led the move away from the limited duality of Keynesian economics.

Don't take my word for it, though. Find out about it yourself. Don't ever trust what some body on the internet says.

I would suggest reading The Art of War if you havent. It can be applied succesfully to everything and debate is one of those things.

JerseyCynic,

It's not so much that the people here were quick to judge you personally, but your online avatar. Trolls are a very real anomaly online, and you can usually pick them rather quickly via their first post. The purpose of many trolls is to cause controversy by any means necessary, and this usually happens through many nonsensical posts over a short period of time. I am happy that you aren't a troll, but many of us have our defenses up. People have been trying to push Ron Paul down from the very start, but there have been relatively few trolls on these forums. People are just on high guard.

I will say that your initial post had my "troll sense" tingling, and it was misplaced. The only way to know that is when we verify the information in the post, and when you post again clarifying your situation. You'll find when you post a bit and people get to know you, it's no different than real life. People will get to trust you. Just know that you were asking a lot as a first post and it took a moment for us to realize that you weren't trolling.

Thank you for the link, and welcome to the forums. :)
