Two of the top teams in the country in one of the biggest non-BCS games. This game is going to generate a lot of media attention and a huge crowd in one of the nation's largest cities.

I suggest petitioning for clearance to fly near the game, but even if you can't, being in Orlando on this day would be great for publicity. Not only would you have have the hundreds of thousands that the game will draw, but you will also have the tourists who are visiting Disney World. Weather-permitting of course.

the blimp people are taking January 1st off - time for a mutiny me thinks - I agree that your event should be a priority and if this alleged blimp owner is such a supporter of Ron's they would make this happen.

let's see if someone actually answers or whether they bury this post too. Taking this day off would be a total joke. Nobody told us this when they were selling this albatross. Many TV commercials in Iowa are going unfunded due to money that has been wasted on this project which can't execute well.

Why would they take a day "off"? The next 14 days are crucial; they should spend every day up for the full 6 hours allowed by the blimp contract in the air over big events.

Wow, that would be a tremendous wasted opportunity. The blimp has already been grounded for an unfortunate amount of time. They need to utilize whatever time they have. Even if most of the team wants to take time off, enough of the team should work to make sure the blimp is able to fly.

Yeah, they plan to have the blimp in Orlando but not in the air on New Years Day. Maybe it's in the contract of the airship's pilot and ground crew that they get off on national holidays.

Sure, they deserve to take a day off, but wow, what a wasted opportunity.

Go search McKarnin's posts. She has stated that due to contract rules they must give the blimp people Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, possibly New Year's Eve and definitely New Years' Day off. They don't have a choice.
