I noticed while watching the news the other day that the best place for promoting Ron Paul is somewhere the media cant really avoid showing his signs. The solution: DOT cameras. The media loves to show off their fancy DOT cam shots of the morning traffic and tons of people watch to see whats congested. A sign visible to the camera would be shown to thousands of people watching. Also, because the cameras are state owned and not station owned, this would be shown on every station that viewed that camera! Not only that, but everyone driving past this sign on the road would also see it. This seems to be the most efficient way to get out the message in both terms of cost and effort.
How to get this working:
First: Watch your local news for about a week each morning and figure out which locations are commonly shown on the news. Take note of the best area within the shot to place the sign.
Note:Some DOT cameras are pan tilt zoom so they may move them to avoid the signs. For the stubborn ones, place more signs!
Second: Figure out how big your sign should be. No matter how much effort you put into your location, if your sign isn't big enough to be read, it wont be useful at all. Make sure to use high contrast colors such as red or blue on white. Trying signs that put red on blue or black on red or something like that will likely be totally unreadable by any camera. You will likely need a pretty large sign made up of several poster boards.
Third: TEAMWORK, you are probably only going to be able to do this once or twice before the state cracks down. They don't like free publicity. You will probably need to collaborate as to when to strike as many cams at once. This will also decrease the cost per person. More people means better signs and more locations.
