Paul A Palooza 2008
Supporter-Bomb
in
Las Vegas, NV
January 12-13, 2008
This is a supporter-bomb. Instead of donations, we are going to import Ron Paul supporters into Las Vegas by the thousands. Events will kick off Saturday, January 12th, 2008 at around noon with the biggest Ron Paul march ever. It will be on the Las Vegas Strip. You saw all the videos from the Tea Party marches. Imagine thousands of Ron Paul supporters in full regalia parading the famous Strip.
Saturday night will be an evening of fun-filled entertainment. We are in the process of securing a venue and some great entertainers. Tickets will be sold for this event, with the proceeds being used for activities targeting registered Republicans in Las Vegas in the lead up to the caucus. The caucus is Jan. 19th. Anyone that comes for Paul A Palooza is encouraged to stay for the week after and help us win.
Sunday will most likely be the first ever Ron Paul Las Vegas Convention. This is where we’ll get a chance to network with supporters from all across the country, plan strategy, and conduct training for the upcoming caucus in Nevada. It is our hope that ideas generated here will translate into political victories in other states.
Please get the word out, and keep this weekend clear on your calendars. paulapalooza2008.com (http://www.paulapalooza2008.com) is the official site of this event, and if tickets are sold online, this is where it will happen. All official news about this event will be posted here. If you don't see it here, it is not true. Contact info, and a great website design are on the way. Come back often for updates.
This event is brought to you by the creators of the Las Vegas Tea Party '07 - members of the Las Vegas Ron Paul Meet Up.

Hi everyone, thanks for all the great comments. I was away from my computer all day working on this. We accomplished a lot so far;
1) Met with one of the big hotel chains in vegas about venue space...
2) Met with someone who has several leads on some killer entertainment for Paul-a-palooza Sat. night.
3) Met with someone on alternative housing for those that can't afford hotels.
This is happening. Please get the word out...we'll get a better site up soon. Hotel space looks favorable, and I can block out rooms for attendees of the event. Airfare is looking good right now.
I want Ron Paul to come. I still have to chat with the campaign, but I would say if we can get enough people, and you demand it, anything is possible.
Can you imagine it? Supporter-Bomb! Thousands of Ron Paul people invade Las Vegas! :)
We'll get a site up or ticketing soon at http://www.paulapalooza2008.com/

I would prefer to use grassroots graphics for the website. If some of you that are more experienced with ron paul forums could get a thread going for graphics or website design submissions I would really appreciate. I want to get something better up as soon as possible, but I am super busy with other logistics.
If we can't get it done here, I will hire a las vegas firm to do it....
the domain is http://www.paulapalooza2008.com/
also please digg and talk this up at these links, and repost wherever you think wise. We need to start getting people thinking about this ASAP so they keep the weekend clear and start making travel plans. I heard San Diego is already talking about chartering a bus.

Wow Cali. Your quick! I like :). I'm not talented in the old graphic department but here's an idea someone else might want to try:
A slot machine with RP's face(s) on the payline and the other candidates faces on the loser lines. The machine can be called the Paul-A-Palooza Machine.
There might even be some animated, customizable slot machine graphics out there to do this:D

I think this is a great idea, and once you get the site more organized and with info I'd add a pledge counter like with the money bomb sites so people can gauge support. I'm from Phoenix and know plenty of groups of people that will jump at the chance to be apart of this. I know of a few large pulling bands based in the area that have a few members if not the whole band in support of Paul, so I'm sure you can get some great musical entertainment too even with the short notice. Are any hotels willing to give a group discount? Information on campgrounds may be useful as well.
I run a mobile recording studio so if you feel like you need any help with logistics on anything audio/visual PM for contacts or assistance, I'll be more than happy to come up to Vegas a few days early to help if I can

Here is my response to a Daily Paul question about cross streets. In it I clarify what we are going for overall:
http://www.dailypaul.com/node/16562 (http://www.dailypaul.com/node/16562)
Cross Street to be Determined
On December 24th, 2007 MCS says:
UNLV is a great suggestion. I'll keep it in mind; however, the details of the march are yet to be determined. It is actually the easiest part. Right now I am working on booking a venue and putting together some awesome entertainment for you guys Sat. night.
The important thing is to get the word out. Let people know we are doing this. I'll try to get FeedBurner up on the site by morning so people can sign up for updates.
Also, we have some seed money, but if anyone knows a Lawrence Lepard that would like to invest in this, feel free to have them contact us.
paulapalooza2008@gmail.com
We might also consider pre-selling tickets that would be refundable if we don't get enough of a response to put on the show. We hope to make Sat. night a variety show of entertainers that are Ron Paul supporters, sensitive to the freedom message, or are just too cool that you guys won't wan to miss it.
The idea is to raise enough revenue by selling tickets Sat. night that we can do a final push on marketing, canvassing, etc. before the Nevada caucus.

I'm working on details. Remember it is Christmas, so I am still waiting for all the possible venues and entertainment to send me bids.
Once I book a venue, I will be able to block out hotel rooms. I encourage you to look into options though. Remember, this is going to be more than a thousand people, so folks are not all going to stay in the same hotel. I also already have leads on some alternative housing. All this info will be posted on the site as soon as I'm comfortable.
Regarding the march, I'm hesitant to narrow down the meeting place just yet for a few reasons. And it's OK. It is the easiest part of this whole gig to organize. Just get as many people as you can that want to come, and have them put in their email on http://www.paulapalooza2008.com/
Once we're ready I'll send out an email blast and post the map on the site. Now I will say it should be between Spring Mountain and Tropicanna on Las Vegas Blvd. as this is the busiest chuck of the Strip.

Is this catching on? I only see 120 people on the site so far. We'll seriously consider flying in since the flights are cheap and it's a good excuse for a vacation.

I am on my way out the door to book the venue. I have to leave a deposit of several thousand dollars -- that's how convinced I am that this thing is going to take off. I need your guys help to spread the word.
After I'm done with my meeting today, I will be ready to make some announcements. When people start to see progress you will see more support; however, I will say this. For the Las Vegas Tea Party - we only had 120 YES RSVP on the Meetup site. More than 250 people showed up. For the online donation, Trevor only had half the pledges compared to what was actually donated.

Keep up the great work! The word is getting out. We are now featured on the Truckers for Ron Paul website (http://www.truckers4ronpaul.org/) and the Granny Warriors might be coming (http://www.grannywarriors.com/). Please don’t let up, as we are approaching the 2 week mark, and we want people to get the best deals possible on airfare.
The venue has been decided. I'll make an announcement tomorrow; 100 hotel rooms have been blocked for this at a fixed rate of $99 for Saturday night. This offer will be available from the time of the announcement to January 5, 2008, or until sold out. They are even going to allow Saturday night check-in, which almost never happens in Las Vegas. I encourage everyone to book at the location when I announce it. This place is going out of their way to help us, because it is a Ron Paul event. So even if there is a better deal out there, if you can afford it, please spend the money at our venue until all the rooms are sold. They have sucked up a lot of other costs for us. When I announce, I will include a special code, and link to book your hotel room.
I have procured an alternative for those that cannot afford a hotel, or who enjoy communal living. It is a vacant building, and I will have dozens of brand-spanking new cots (still in the box) for you. There are 2 bathrooms on site, but no showers. There is not heat currently, but if there is enough interest, I will work out a solution for that. I will create some kind of reservation system for this. We could easily fit a couple hundred people comfortably in this building.
I will also be making an announcement shortly on entertainment. Tickets sales will commence soon. Stay tuned!
140 people are coming to Paul A Palooza as of 3 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2007

I had to send this out to Meet Up Organizers around the country, because of what has been going on:
Las Vegas Meet Up Reaching Out
Hi Ron Paul Meet Up Organizers,
I just want to give you a quick update on what’s going in Las Vegas in the lead up to the Nevada caucus.
You may verify anything said in this email by contacting Joe, one of our assistant organizers. He can be found here: http://ronpaul.meetup.com/47/members/4234125/ I refer you to Joe, because I want you to know I’m being accurate as to what is going on.
Several days ago, our head organizer went on his honeymoon, and asked Jason H. to take care of things while he was gone. Unfortunately, Jason seized immediate control of the Meet Up group, and booted me off not only as Special Events Coordinator, but also from the group entirely. He believes that I am acting in a manner harmful to the campaign, and believes he has uncovered a shady past that proves beyond doubt my lack of character. He has provided no credible evidence, and does not have the support of senior members of the Meet Up. You see, I am the organizer of the Las Vegas Tea Party, an event that has outperformed anything we have done in the past, yet was dismissed in its infancy by some members of the official campaign. And those same campaign members are encouraging Jason currently. The event registered more voters than ever before, recruited over 100 new meet up members (18% growth), received 15 new Clark County Republican Special Committee applications, recruited more delegates than ever before, and networked supporters in the same precinct, so they knew to support each other at the caucus - all in four hours.
We are doing it again with Paul A Palooza http://www.paulapalooza2008.com/ (http://www.paulapalooza2008.com/); however, this time we are going big. We are asking people to come to Vegas for some fun – the biggest Ron Paul march ever, and a night of entertainment. The next day, we hope to have the first ever Ron Paul Convention, where we put those folks to work studying strategy, exchanging ideas, helping us win Nevada, and then taking what they’ve learned back to their own states for Super Tuesday. If we make a profit from Paul A Palooza, it will be reinvested in a series of events leading up to the caucus designed to be more effective than anything we’ve done before. Unfortunately, the lower echelons of the campaign are fighting us again, and viciously. It has gotten so bad, that my lawyers want to get involved. Please see the text on the Phoenix Meet Up Calendar for January 13th: http://ronpaul.meetup.com/7/calendar/ (http://ronpaul.meetup.com/7/calendar/) I do not want to go that route, and filed a complaint today with the national campaign. They were very receptive, and I am eager to get feedback from them. I informed them, that I will not work with the people in question, but that I definitely would like to make sure we help the campaign achieve its goals, and address any concerns they might have.
Our true organizer, and several senior members have attempted to confront Jason H., but he is of yet incommunicado. The next step will be to ask meetup.com for help. In the meantime, we sure could use your support for Paul A Palooza. Please get the word out and post it on your calendars. Verify with Joe, that what I said was true. I do not want to give out info. regarding with whom I spoke with at the national campaign (in case they get bombarded), but it was someone at the Arlington, VA office should you wish to call on your own and verify.
I am writing this email, because several of us in the Las Vegas Meet Up have risked our time, our money, and our sacred honor on this event. We are making every effort to make sure folks are confident in what we are doing. I signed a contract today with Texas Station http://www.texasstation.com/ , part of Station Casinos, a very reputable business here in Las Vegas. They own properties throughout Las Vegas. 100 rooms were blocked out for this event, and you can verify by calling (800)654-8888, and asking about Paul A Palooza. They will also be handling the ticketing for us, and make sure that if refunds are needed, then they are honored. In addition, we have not promised anything we cannot deliver. Please review the site for yourself: http://www.paulapalooza2008.com/

Any venue disclosures?
Top-Secret
12-29-2007, 12:19 PM
Hi Mastiff. I refer to the email above. Several entities will be making money on this, because I will be paying them - the venue, entertainers, staff, etc. If the organizers (me and other meet up members) make money the majority of the profits will be used to fund a series of events prior to the caucus designed to help us solve the problem of people not canvassing. I say majority, because some of us have not gone back to work since before the Las Vegas Tea Party, because we have be planning this event. We won't lose our jobs, but we are not getting paid either. We have been working 80 hours a week for Ron Paul without pay, and yet we are still catching flak from paid members of the campaign. There is a volunteer council from the meet up group overseeing the issue of revenue.
And this is what the message of Ron Paul is all about: free market ideas, reward those who take a chance and succeed. We are risking our own time and money on this.

Rocky,
Are you asking where this is going to be located? If so, the announcement was made yesterday at http://www.paulapalooza2008.com/
We will be celebrating Sat night at the Texas Station (http://www.texasstation.com/) in honor of the Texas congressman. 100 rooms have been blocked out for this event, and you can book yours by calling (800)654-8888. Just mention you will be attending Paul A Palooza, and you get a special rate of $99 for that night. They are also offering a great price for Fri, and Sun. Someone just booked those nights for $59!
Tickets will go on sale soon for the Ron Paul Mystery Tour. It will be general admission, but those that buy first will be given VIP tickets, and allowed early entry.

Would you please contact me at paulapalooza@gmail.com, or I guess you could send me a private message on here. I'll send you my phone number, because you've helped, and I want to make sure you know what is going, and that you are comfortable with everything.
We are doing entertainment Sat. night, because we need a place where several hundred, or more than a thousand Ron Paul people can hang out and get to know each other. We can't just go to a bar or a restaurant like we did with the Las Vegas Tea Party. We want to give people a fun option, but to rent a space costs money, and so does entertainment - hence ticket sales. If you do not want to participate in the entertainment, then don't. You do not have to buy anything to participate in the march or other activities, and I still blocked out hotel rooms for you should you need them.

We're calling it the Ron Paul Mystery Tour. Sorry your friends have to come on faith, because I may or may not announce the entertainment before the show. Just wanted to get everyone up to speed. Last night, thankfully, we the people took back our Meet Up in Las Vegas.
Because a lower member of the official campaign is continuing in his efforts to disrupt this event, I encourage everyone that is coming to sign up at http://www.paulapalooza2008.com/ to ensure that you are receiving timely and CORRECT information. You can unsubscribe at any time; however, if you are still worried that your email address will not be kept private, then sign up for a free gmail, yahoo, or hotmail account.
We are currently discussing the problem with higher echelons of the campaign, and they seem eager to work with us. We informed them that we want to help them reach all their goals, and address any concerns.
I also encourage Meet Up organizers to contact me at paulapalooza2008@gmail.com or on the Las Vegas Meetup (Screen name:Top-Secret) so that I may brief you on how we envision this event in terms of also accomplishing the campaign's goals (Canvassing has always been a part of this event!). And to discuss why the disrupter is operating either unprofessionally from false assumptions or out of complete malice.

I don't see how getting thousands of Ron Paul supporters to Nevada before the caucus can be anything but positive. Just have a plan in place to have the newcomers help with canvassing while they are there.

Now that Paul-a-Palooza is gaining momentum, we need help generating more buzz for our spectacular festivities!
Events kick off at 3pm on January 12th, with the biggest Ron Paul march ever down the famous Las Vegas Strip!! We've booked a beautiful convention room at the Texas Station, entertainment, and now that we've received an official endorsement from the campaign we're working on getting Dr. Paul to join us too!!! Tickets go on sale 1/4/08 for the Saturday evening, January 12th Paul-a-Palooza festivities at the Texas Station. Tickets will be available for purchase through Texas Station for $39 plus tax. Texas Station has also blocked off 100 hotel rooms for $99 on Saturday, January 12th. Call 800-654-8888 and tell them you're a Paul-a-Palooza attendee to get the special rate.
Don't miss out on the fun! We are going to have a great weekend of canvassing, marching, networking and partying with fellow freedom fighting r3VOLutionaries!

The campaign wants to send him, but we need to prove that we are going to be out in force.
The name of the game now is promotion, promotion, promotion!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 5th, 2008
Misguided Media Out-FOXed in Las Vegas - Ron Paul Invited to Fake FOX News Debate
Paul-a-Palooza 2008 Supporter-Bomb Promises Weekend of Campaigning and Fun
Ron Paul, the $20 million dollar man and Republican presidential candidate, has received the first VIP invitation to Paul-a-Palooza 2008, and the Ron Paul Mystery Tour. It is a fun-filled weekend (Jan. 12th-13th, 2008) designed to bring supporters to Las Vegas en masse in the week leading up to the Nevada caucus.
The Ron Paul Mystery Tour at the Texas Station is a ticketed variety show in which there will be at least one act from the Las Vegas Strip. Ron Paul Revolutionaries will be buying on faith, as artists will most likely not be announced prior to show day. However, in reaction to the FOX News exclusion of Ron Paul from their next debate, Paul A Palooza organizers are releasing some details. Nationally known comedic performers have been contracted for the event, and one scene will depict a fake FOX News style debate. Tickets sales commenced Friday, January 5th, 2008 through Stations Casinos. The show will begin at 6 p.m. January 12, 2008.
Other Paul A Palooza 2008 activities include precinct canvassing, and the largest Ron Paul march to date. The march will begin at the "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign, and end with a cool PR stunt somewhere along the Las Vegas Strip. The march will commence at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2008.
Precinct walking will be a focal point of the weekend, as out of town grassroots supporters help locals spread Ron Paul's name and message. This final boots on the ground push is in preparation for Nevada's January 19th caucus.
This innovative supporter mobilization is the brainchild of Las Vegas Ron Paul grassroots activists. It is hoped that the Paul-a-Palooza weekend translates into a political victory for Ron Paul in Nevada.

I would like to open the Ron Paul Mystery Tour with an inspiring video/compilation and tribute to the freedom movement, Ron Paul, and especially to Aaron Russo.
If you don;t know what this is, or would like to see a sample video (check out the Viva Las Vegas), check here:

If we get a lot of submissions, I would like to use the ones not shown at the event, as promotion on the internet. Additionally, I might use multiple videos at the event.
Oh yeah, this is a rush job. The show is on Jan 12th.

Don't care about the show or party at all. I will be there to canvass my butt off.

Wow. Thanks for supporting your fellow revolutionaries who have created this great event for all of us. We've been working our a&*es off for almost 3 weeks on this. Nothing like this has ever been done before by grassroots amateurs and is a testament to the revolutionary spirit.
There is room for both canvassing and partying. As Ron Paul says, people are able to decide for themselves what they'd like to do. You don't have to come party with us, but acknowledging the option and the effort that we've put into this would be nice.
This party can seat up to 2000 people and we have $20,000 worth of entertainment that was donated to us. It's a wonderful reward and enticement for the imported volunteers who will help us canvass and win Nevada.
Sorry you'll miss out on all the fun.

Thanks everyone for your help. Met with Trevor today. He should get the word out for us shortly, and he is coming to the march and the party. Now it is up to the Revolution to make this a success. I've done everything I can do...

Do any of you that are in Vegas right now have any yard signs or large signs? All I have are 2 bumper stickers.
