if you're from iowa, you haven't been to a caucus before. if you're first round choice doesn't get 15%, you can not vote for him in the second round.

Who is Ron Paul?

The Democrats have the 15% rule. They raise their hands, and determine which candidates are viable and which are not. However, a supporter of a non-viable candidate is not obligated to make a second choice. If they do not choose a second candidate, they are simply standing in the corner until after delegate selection is completed.

The Republicans write the name of their choice of candidates on a piece of paper. The votes are collected and counted and the results reported.
