Republicans always wanted to get more of the African American vote, and since Paul will be a player in the national campaign (not just the early states) and possibly a serious player in a brokered convention, I think this has a huge possibility. Not just for sheer votes, but also to send a message to the media and the nation that he is a true bridge builder and uniter.

The trick is, how to get the word out about how it is a Republican candidate, not a Democrat, that wants to get out of Iraq now, wants to eliminate our overseas bases to help secure Social Security, end the federal war on drugs and protect civil liberties? Has anyone had luck on this? Can folks trade notes?

Cool! But do you think Paul could get a stronger following outside of the Bay Area, where a more centrist Democrat like either Obama or Clinton holds sway? Kucinich and Paul seem to naturally compete with each other among the more disgruntled, anti-war Democrats.
