We all know and love this logo:

Color me curious--who created this amazing logo? I checked around all over, but couldn't find anything. Replies/PM's are welcomed.

Thanks!

I do not know who. I do know it started here in AZ though down in phoenix... I think it actually started before Ron Paul decided to run. As I had seen it in photos from the freedom to fascism news letter.

Oh, gosh, I looked this up once and found it, but didn't think to write it down anywhere. It was one of those minor thirsts of curiosity that I quickly quenched and then forgot about. It was some guy in a Southwestern state--Arizona or New Mexico I think. That's all I remember. Maybe I'm wrong. I read an interview with him where he said the "Love" in Revolution meant "Love of the Constitution."

I don't know, but I do know that there was originally some argument that we should NOT use that logo - I posted in support of it and I'm so glad that it survived the critics.

from boston.com (http://www.boston.com/news/globe/editorial_opinion/oped/articles/2007/09/01/a_love_revolution_goldwater_style/):

The creator of this slogan, Arizona libertarian Ernie Hancock, explains in an online article that the "love" refers to love of liberty, but concedes that the visual was chosen mainly for its emotional impact.

Thanks a lot! I know it's not terribly important, but I was really curious since it's become one of the main symbols for the grassroots.

I guess that same guy has some big plans for the super bowl. They have a chip in going. It's a plan to get National TV exposure for free,or for very cheap. You can search it on these forums.

Earnest Hancock from Arizona is where the logo comes from. Here is an excerpt of him explaining a bit about the logo:

"...Immediately after learning that an individual with a proven record spanning over decades was willing to represent the founding principles of this country (not a warmed over shadow version of it) my family and several friends were “all in”. We knew that we could ‘Declare our Independence’ and begin a Revolution based on our love of liberty and our families. Our past experiences had taught us how to do it, that it was way past time, and that the chance for a peaceful solution to our monumental problems should be seized with great passion in an all out effort to avoid what many of us feared would be the result of the eventual and certain collapse of our economy.

The choice of the r3VOLution logo was due to the emotional impact it had on each of us the moment each individual was exposed to it.

I saw this particular idea on the Internet over a year and a half ago and used it for a local race here in Arizona on only a few hundred stickers. The logo filled otherwise unused space in the layout of other stickers and a sign design that I used as my primary message in my race for Secretary of State here in Arizona, “Still Voting” that was a campaign to highlight the fraud of Computer Voting.
Newspaper poll after the election - "most popular campaign sign"

So while the r3VOLution artwork got a very small exposure in the 2006 election cycle, there was enough real life feedback to know the impact and understanding of how this would happen…

But it was never our intent to “brand” the campaign. As the campaign matures you can expect more investment by the Ron Paul campaign into “tagging” the campaign with what they want to see visible at various functions. With nothing available from the campaign for individuals to demonstrate their support it is very easy to see how the RonPaulRevolution would become so visible. Our intent was to make it clear what we knew this campaign to be. Political philosophy has made a full revolution and returned us to an understanding of the founding principles of this country with first hand knowledge now of what happens when those principles are abandoned.

Ron Paul himself was the first to understand the concept and has embraced the “revolution” at every stop with the first words out of his mouth demonstrating an understanding of what is happening and being happy to be part of the ‘r3VOLution’..."

Ernie Hancock is a great guy. He and Marc Victor of Phoenix have organized a series of FreedomSummit.com events. I went to one in 2002, and it changed my life. That's where I met Lew Rockwell for the first time.

I got to ride to Philly with Ernie.

His website is www.freedomsphoenix.com

He used the love-o-lution logo for his secretary of state libertarian run. It was modified for Ron Paul

Long story :)

Bottom line is that I saw the idea a couple of years ago on the Internet (reversed 3VOL) and used the "r3VOLution" idea in my 2006 campaign for Sec of State. My main sign was something else but I had a lot of stickers done with the 'r3VOLution' and the reaction was very positive so I knew what the reaction was going to be when associated with the message of Ron Paul that I've been very aware of for years.

I just did a presentation at the Hope for America Conference in Phoenix on the 8th of Dec. that explains a lot of what happened and why. I'm sure you'll find the information interesting. Here http://www.freedomsphoenix.com/Feature-Article.htm?InfoNo=028081 Enjoy!

I'm going back to Phoenix for Christmas with my family and then back to New Hampshire on the 28th thru the 10th. Then it's Super Bowl time baby! :)

Here is the first video we've done of the 4+ hours of video we will be starting to post about our time here in New Hampshire for the past 11 days.

Travis is the "Stuck Snow Man". He is the ASU organizer and this was his first time in the snow.

Just yesterday we finished passing out the LOVE packets to every main street business in the state in towns of over 5000 population. (oh,... and lots of signs :)

I spend most of my time planning and doing the next Big Project so I don't get to hear about all of the things going on unless someone shares information with me (like your request for the origins of the RPR Logo). But I've known about RonPaulForums for a long time.

Josh came up from Houston to Des Moines twice and we got to spend some together 'revolutionizing' both times.

Here is the main video of our efforts in Iowa :)

The radio show is still on the air but I can't spend more than one day a week doing it and I often have guest hosts when I am gone.

I am on the Air America station in Phoenix ("Progressives" need a dose of r3VOLution too :) NovaM is the new network that the Dobney's started after they left Air America that they created. The fact that their flagship station asked that I continue my show there was,... interesting :) They knew going in that I was no-compromise hard care libertartian. Give the archive a listen and you'll see that they appreciate some truth too.

Yeah, that was the campaign and I remember that push! It was 'discouraged' by the campaign. However, we're not the campaign and it survived! We're everyday- people defending our Constitution, standing up for our lives, and giving a brighter future to our CHILDREN!!!

Oh, crud! Am I pandering?!
