Two robbers who broke into Luther Ricks Sr.’s house this summer may have not gotten his life savings he had in a safe, but after the FBI confiscated it he may not get it back.

Ricks has tried to get an attorney to fight for the $402,767 but he has no money. Lima Police Department officers originally took the money from his house but the FBI stepped in and took it from the Police Department. Ricks has not been charged with a crime and was cleared in a fatal shooting of one of the robbers but still the FBI has refused to return the money, he said.

Now, the pic makes it look like this guy is sort of, um, eccentric. I mean, you have almost half a mil in your safe, but you wear torn shirts and live in a little crappy house?

Anyway, this is the kind of shit that ONLY Ron Paul is addressing in the campaign and the ONLY one who would certainly combat unconstitutional and plain immoral confiscation of people's property. This kind of crap has gone on way too long.

I like the first sentence comparing the FBI to armed robbers.

Well, you don't get to have a half million in cash buying Armani suits all the time.

What the article fails to mention is that the guy is a drug dealer and that's how he got the money, and that the police found drugs in the guy's house as well.

I know Ron Paul wants to legalize drugs, but the fact remains, right now they are still illegal, and buying/selling them is against the law.

I think the big thing is they didn't have a warrant to seize the money.

So if somebody is accused of selling drugs and drugs are found in their home, the FBI can take everything and without a trial or anything just go on with business as usual?

Doesn't sound constitutional to me.
