I really like it! Timothy Leary held a fund-raiser for Paul... Amazing! The more you read about RP, the man, the more you fully see that he's the real deal.

Gave me the warm fuzzies, I posted this comment.

"Excellent article. After you hear Dr. Paul speak you realize how narrow minded we really are. We never think about things such as money, liberty, etc, and hence we find ourselves completely devoid of value in the end. I always thought I was alone, and Dr. Paul's campaign has connected me to other people who share my beliefs, and this has been amazing. Dr. Paul will win, and when people read history books they will consider this to be a turning point in America's life, and I will be one of many who contributed to making this happen :)"

Hopefully this shuts people up about Tucker being a sellout.

He's pretty much openly endorsing Paul on each of his shows now.

My favorite part is at the end, where Tucker admits he has started to think about sound money. Very funny stuff.

Nice article. So now we finally get the story behind the brothel owner endorsement. It's a good thing Lew Moore stopped that picture from being taken.

Great story. Glad the hooker thing was more of an accident.

I wonder what supporter would want to get the good Dr. high? LOL I laughed at that part too.

hilarious

Caught in traffic in downtown Vegas on the way to an event, Paul looked out the window at the casinos and mused aloud: "Can you imagine when all those slot machines used real silver dollars? All that silver ... " His words trailed off, as in a pleasant daydream.

I've had daydreams like that!

If he had talked a little bit more about Ron and a little bit less about hookers, it would have been perfect, but it''s definitely not just one of the best articles on Ron I've ever read, but possibly one of THE best articles I've ever read. Knew Tucker could host tv shows, but damn can he write.

I loved the bit about the cabin lights and Ron musing about the Vegas silver coins.

Shed no tears for Amy... She is a trooper :)

Great article... It reminds me of an old-school Rolling Stone article.

Me too, but that may because one of my first introductions into political writing was Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail.

Meh, I think it reflects a lot of what the article is about. He looks like an ordinary guy who's being forced into being the center of attention in that photo. Some average Joe who looks totally out of place sitting in a chair in an empty room surrounded by flood lights and cameras. Yet he's got this serious look on his face. It's the classic "Some have greatness thrust upon them" picture.

I loved it. It's so refreshing to see someone put effort and research into their writing. This is the first time I've seen any article mention anarcho-capitalists or Krugerrands :D

I don't think most journalists would know either or care to learn.

I was the unnamed staffer in the van, in the restaurant, and outside the Pahrump rally in the story. The whole trip was a blast. I had to fly out the morning of the hooker incident so I wasn't there for that.

Someone referenced Hunter Thompson earlier and that was the first thing that popped into my head when I heard about it. I wasn't even pissed at Tucker for bringing Dennis Hoff. I thought about that line from "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. " "We were just outside of Barstow when the drugs kicked in." I pictured Tucker and Hoff as Hunter and his lawyer crashing a press conference. Good gonzo journalism is good gonzo journalism. Even if Lew was less than thrilled.

I have a pic from that trip on my blog: http://freemansburden.blogspot.com/ Sorry I haven't updated in a while. Been a little busy.

I'll text Tucker in the morning and let him know that we all appreciated the article.

A bit disingenuous, no? Am I to believe that this Reno press conference was the first time Tucker thought about 'buying Kruggerands'? He's supported him for 20 years, but this just now suddenly occurs to him? Please...

I still don't trust this guy, sorry.

This guy seriously needs a competent body guard.

Very well written article, good job Tucker!!!

I don't understand everyone's confusion as to why a wide range of people support Dr. Paul.

It couldn't be more obvious. Everyone supports him because his policies help everyone. There is absolutely no us-vs-them in Ron Paul thought. What's to be against?

Boy howdy he does.

Can anyone name for me the last president who tried to shut down the CIA and the Federal Reserve? Here's a hint: his initials were JFK.

Just sayin' is all.

Don't fret. The brownies were from a catered event earlier in the day. Our hostess wrapped some up because Ron didn't have time to eat. We would never take food given to us by a supporter.

So what we're saying here is Ron was just messing with Tucker's head. Good form.
