Sleuth: If you were to defy the polls and the odds and win the nomination, who would be your running mate?

Paul: Well, I don't know, but if I won, you know, I'd want a recount. You know, lets be certain about what's going on here.

But a running mate. Somebody like Walter Williams. Walter Williams is a very good economist.

We don't have to dance to the tune of these people making bogus claims. Have faith in Ron and relax.

I still like the idea of VP Sanford the best, but Ron should definitely recruit Williams as an economic adviser to his campaign and then put him in a cabinet post.

Ron Paul needs one thing in a VP -- name recognition. I knew Ross Perot didn't have a chance when he picked the Admiral as his running mate. Forbes comes to mind if you want someone with an economist's mind.

I'm not a big Forbes fan, but if he bought in, he could be one of the best things to happen to the freedom campaign next to Dr. Paul himself.

I think it will either be Mark Sanford or Chuck Hagel

Forbes is madly in love with Rudy Giuliani. Bad choice.

Sanford is a JebBushbot.

Hagel looks like a good contender.

Jimmy Duncan R-TN voted NO to Iraq

Walter Williams sounds great to me.

Even my parents have known him for years.

They are just only now coming to know Dr Paul.

Chillax, no one thinks Ron is a racist. Don't let the people who are upset that Kucinich never gained traction weigh you down with those non-factor stories.

I thought I never heard of him before, but then I remembered reading this paragraph from his Wikipedia entry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_E._Williams):

He has gone on record as advocating the Free State Project (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_State_Project) in at least two columns and once on television. The Williams endorsement correlated with the largest single membership jump in the first 5000 phase of the project, a jump even higher than the results of the project being Slashdotted. He also believes in the right of U.S. states to secede from the union as several states attempted to do during the Civil War.[2] Williams has supported or been sympathetic toward various secessionist ideas in his writings.

Those Bilderberg meetings Hagel went to don't make him very appealing to me....

Walter Williams is a well known libertarian and a great thinker who will carry on Ron's economic views, which I clearly think Ron feels are very important (it's the reason he got into politics, don't forget). Plus, how can you call someone a racist if he picks a black man to be his VP?

I think it's a great choice. I keep hearing advocates for Palin and Sanford, but to be honest I think they are unknown quantities.

Hagel is anti-war and well known, he should be considered. I have no idea where he is on freedom though.
