Alrighty, so I've had about 4 hours sleep, and the whole time I've been dreaming about this site, so let's try to make it happen today!

For those of you who weren't up in the middle of the night, here's the idea:

http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=61101&page=2

Cliff Notes: A new site where people can tell their stories, much like http://www.npr.org/blogs/bryantpark/2007/12/who_are_ron_pauls_supporters.html, which already has ridiculous amounts of stories on it. On this site we can (voluntarily!) give more information so people can search by age, location, or issue. (IE, teachers can put their story into the "Education" section and tell why they think Ron Paul is right on Education. Other issues would be covered as well, with Ron Paul supporters explaining why they know about the issue, and why they think that he's right. Also, it seems we'd be able to have a video section as well!

We had some great ideas for the domain, so I'm going to throw a few of them out there. We'll pick the top 2 vote-getters to go into a final round.

We're going to need a web-team to get the site off the ground too.

Please vote!

I voted for "www.ISupportRonPaul.org (http://www.isupportronpaul.org/)". It's the most
appealing and sympathetic one in my opinion.

What information should the site as for? (Remember it's all voluntary)

I think that this is a great idea to get a demographic on support. We could find out a lot about what support we have and who we need to reach out to based on the info. We could even get the info over to ronpaulgraphs.com and get some statistics out of it for race, religion, location, etc of the web support.

It might be useful to know who we have on board to find out who we need to reach out to.

Does that cover it?

I think you throw out the .orgs

I really like WeTheRevolution AND WeAreRonPaul.

I voted for wetherevolution, only because i think it's more inclusive and inviting. weareronpaul sounds a little like a "fan site".

None of them domains are even available. All but one appears to be squatted on: http://www.ronpaulsupporters.com/

Like I said in another of these threads. Contact the owner of www.ronpaulsupporters.com and see if they're willing to add a subdomain like WhoAre (WhoAre.RonPaulSupporters.com).

I'm not sure, but I think that we're doing the squatting. I sure hope so :-P

Anybody know the owner of Ron Paul Supporters.com?

I will gladly donate a subdomain on my site: EverythingRonPaul.com

It's already established, and comprehensive.

I pretty much forgot that I have ron-paul.us.

I'd be happy to setup a subdomain and host the site. From the list you have in the poll: WeAre.Ron-Paul.us and ISupport.Ron-Paul.us would work. It'd be kind of crazy with the extra period and hyphen, but no domain registration and web hosting would be needed to get it the site off the ground.

I think Ron Paul's name should be left out of a site like this.... it's too cult-ish

We'll keep this poll up for about 4 more hours, and then have the run off between the final two. We can have this up and accepting submissions as early as tommorrow!

I orginally thought that we should have it just because of the name recognition. But then I realized that the "revolution" is just as famous as Ron Paul. I voted for "wetherevolution" because I think it's perfect :)

Yeah, kind of. This will be more text and video based. I think that the stories are a lot more powerful if you're getting them one after another. Plus, we're going to be able to search by a number of keywords and demographics, so people can more easily connect with somebody from the site. Also, it will build up a solid e-mail list that can be used to announce big online ideas.

I like ron paul republicans because it shows that we're not just OMG RON PAUL, but we really want to see a change in the republican party, and it IS changing!

I voted for RonPaulRepublicans.com, but after the suggestions that the movement should be beyond Ron Paul and not focus on him, how about RepublicanRevolution.com?

On second thought, if Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination, I won't be a Republican any more. So anything with the name Republican may be temporary.

(And side note, looks like the thread that inspired this is up to over 3,000 comments. IN ONE SINGLE DAY!)

Somewhere around 1,000 people have responded now to the question posted yesterday. ( http://www.npr.org/blogs/bryantpark/2007/12/who_are_ron_pauls_supporters.html )

It looks like they took notice:

Make sure the domain can actually be registered or used. WeTheRevolution.com is taken but the owner can be contacted.

I say "WeTheRevolution.com"- because this movement is in the process of transcending Ron Paul as we speak. We are going to elect people to congress. This is OUR country!

I would be in favor of adding this to a site that is already up. There are so many Ron Paul sites already that I get confused trying to keep track of them. I don't want my computer to freeze when I open my bookmark list. :D

Using http://EverythingRonPaul.com seemed like a good idea until I actually went to the site. It looks terrible in my browser, and I cannot even read a lot of the text because it is covered up by other objects on the page. I don't mean this as a criticism, but would like to work on fixing those pages if people decide to go that route.

Also, I am wondering if there is a comprehensive portal to all of these Ron Paul sites anywhere online. If not, I would like to work on putting one together and organizing it so people could more easily find what they are looking for.
