I may be dating myself but some folks forget that Senator John McCain was involved in a previous scandal related to the Savings and Loan Crisis in the late 1980s. McCain and four other Senators (otherwise known as the "Keating Five") were investigated and found to have violated various campaign finance laws by accepting money from Charles Keating in exchange for the Senators' interference with a federal investigation of Mr. Keating. McCain somehow survived the scandal but these latest allegations appear to echo similar improper behavior by McCain twenty years later.

McCain's whole involvement in campaign finance reform stemmed from that! He essentially said "I'm not going to let anybody else do what I just did!"

McCain like a vast majority of republican congressmen are for the tel com companies and against net neutrality. This is the key reason I will no longer consider myself 'republican' even though, i am registered as one and consider myself one my entire life. Ron Paul on the other hand is very pro net neutrality! No lobbyist could convince him otherwise.

exactly his reform was a direct attack on our freedom of expression, he just gave lobbyist more power to give money, because that is where he gets most of his money from...
