Katharine from the blimp here.

Does anyone who lives in the MD/DC/VA/PA/NC area own or know of someone who owns a minivan or suv that is in good repair and gets good gas milege that they would be interested in loaning (not sure how car insurance would work in this case), or selling (for $1 and then buying it back when the blimp tour is over for $1), etc... ?

If you have a different or better idea for getting a safe, reliable, large vehicle to them please let me know as well.

Well i'm in the area... what company would I be selling the car to for $1?

That's a good question. Could be Liberty Political..or perhaps just having you sell it to Trevor would be best. I'll have to look into that. Do you have a vehicle or is this a theoretical question? :-)

Why wouldn't you just include the cost of an escort vehicle in your blimp tour budget?

I'm sorry you feel that way. Hopefully this will not become just one more thread for people to spam with negativity. I am perfectly willing to try and address problems that are presented to me but I don't think this thread is the place to hash them out.

Where and when, specifically, would, in your opinion, be the "proper place" ?

Where is the blimp now? and where is trevor?

Trevor and the blimp are in hartford maryland right now.... those aren't the question myself and several others have been trying to get answered... which are slow in coming... Thanks McKarnin for finally at the least clearing up what entity funds are going to now

But that's the point... you aren't willing to answer these questions until we have given you another 130k

It's not an issue of waiting until you sponsor more blimp time to tell you something. What we're dealing with is a contract that will not allow us to put $$ deadlines on hold while we work out a few paperwork details whether or not we ground the blimp.

Because we are trying to give as much as humanly possible of what comes in to the blimp company.

Ok, You need Transportation for a day to trail the blimp. I am not sure of the requirement. How about requesting from any meet-ups if anyone can cart the blimp staff around for the day.

How many seats do you need?
How long would transportation be needed?
Whats the itinerary?

I think its much more likely to get someone to volunteer time than to find a vehicle thats free of a driver.

If you go to the blimp blog: www.ronpaulblimblog.com it lists our current location and all that good stuff.

Right now we are at Harford, MD airport and the guys are at a local hotel.

I was actually hoping for someone who could let them have a vehicle for most of the blimp tour. We have so much to coordinate already that coordinating a ride in each town with a different person with our flexible schedule seems like a nightmare.

Guys don't come down on her. She's beginning to do what we want- Seeking our help and advice to solve the problems they are encountering.

The blimp hardly has the funding for a van. This is a case where we need to step up, not say "you do it." Stepping up could also mean providing another solution to the problem - transportation.

Yeah Vans are one of the expensive rentals. Sometimes 60$ a day or more.
