Ya know, a lot of men say that, but I'm a scientist, a geek-a relatively good looking one at that and the majority of men are very intimidated by that,l gawk at every pretty young vapid creature that comes along and lack the depth to appreciate a woman who thinks of things on a profound level.

Even my fellow geeks. Sad. I know there's plenty of exceptions and you may well be one of them. It just gets disheartening after a while.

Before becoming Ukraine's first female Prime Minister, Tymoshenko was one of the key leaders of the Orange Revolution. In this period, some Western media publications dubbed her as the "Joan of Arc of the Revolution".[2]

On July 28, 2005, Forbes magazine named her, already a Prime Minister, third most powerful woman in the world, behind only Condoleezza Rice and Wu Yi.[3]

Prior to her political career, Yulia Tymoshenko was a successful but controversial businesswoman in the gas industry, which made her wealthy. She is considered to be a possible candidate for President of Ukraine in 2010

Yulia[1] Volodymyrivna Tymoshenko (Ukrainian: Юлія Володимирівна Тимошенко (born on November 27, 1960) is a Ukrainian politician and current Prime Minister of Ukraine (from January 24 to September 8, 2005 and elected again on December 18, 2007). She is leader of the All-Ukrainian Union "Fatherland" party and the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc.

Hahhaha, no. I live much closer to the East Coast.

And I'm an alternative-type scientist, more of a renaissance style here. I think that all things are connected, science, politics, economics and on and on. Though I have worked for the "man" for a while. Lucrative, but not my style.

Yeah also known as the "Gas princess". Very much in bed with the globalists, bilderbergers etc. If you think she is someone to be admired you might as well put Hillary and Condoleezza on the same list. :)

I sometimes think you in the US have got the whole Russia situation upside down.

She is kinda attractive though, wont deny that.

That's because most people (male and female) talk out of their ass to various degrees, usually to make themselves sound better, in a near compulsive, only partially-conscious manner.

"There is nothing hotter than a smart woman." Generally translates to "There is nothing hotter than a smart woman who is also already hot, because if I thought she was ugly I probably wouldn't be paying attention, but since a lot of women and Oprah want me to act like I loook at all women through the lens of spouse-evaluation and personality trumping all, I'll act like I am that way too," and several other variants along those same lines...

RE: the actual subject of thread

I find this generally amusing, but please make sure that when getting a bit more edgey (eg. "SHOW THEM YOUR TITS FOR RON PAUL"), that everyone knows that it is tounge in cheek and not meant to belittle any of the women supporters. I hope the original poster/site admin really is female, and not an exploitative troll.

Also, male posters please keep it clean and respectful. Some things are in good fun and others are just bone-headed.

All I have to say is that despite the bone-headed Ron Paul supporters, I believe in purity in a message. None of the misogynists will get me to change my mind about him. He is the real thing. He is what I've been waiting for in politics. Ron Paul is not a misogynist, a few of his followers are though. I don't mix his message with some of the BS his followers believe in.

And no, I will not show my tits. I have more respect for myself than that.

It just gets disheartening after a while.Sweetie, many men are lame brains, but honestly, most real grown up men really do love smart women - not women out to immasculate (spelling) but intelligent women with opinions and view points. It may be that I am not like most men, but I love smart women. I am sorry you haven't been lucky in that regard, but I would say you haven't found a man worthy of you yet. To me you sound like a tremendous prize. Only very insecure men are intimidated by a smart woman - actually I am sometimes myself, but that doesn't mean I am not crazy over them too. Being afraid of them is not the same as not liking them. Sometimes you have to cut a guy a little slack so that he knows you are not interested in making him feel stupid or inferior.

If I had to chose between brains and looks, I would take brains any day as long as the packaging isn't downright scary. I am no catch in the looks department, but i will admit that I would not have given a "Holy crap now THAT is what ugly is" girl a chance.

Luckily I landed someone both beautiful AND smart and with the perfect personality to compliment my own. And I am saying that after 15 years of marriage!

Knowing myself, I could not have stayed married to a supermodel that I could not have an intelligent conversation with. It would have been a fun six months going through the Kama Sutra though. :D

I think finding someone that you are "well matched" to is more important than looks or brains, and I definitely hit the 1 in 6 billion jackpot in that department.

Yes, I'd say men's #1 weakness is the female form. It causes them to do stupid things, even if they know better. It's not even so much the looks as it is the way the woman presents herself.

Eventually, smart guys figure out that women who present themselves in such a manner are, for the most part, terribly insecure. Once both man and woman are secure, they can have a "normal" relationship that doesn't involve cheating, slamming doors, stupid arguments, and crying.

Thanks BillyDKid, I do try not to be emasculating, sometimes I could be a little less sarcastic though, that's for sure. One of my friend's boyfriend's actually told me that I intimidate him and that he had to be careful that everything he said was correct. But he started out being intimidated because of what I do for a living.

I'm more than happy to put down the wrenches and let a guy take care of my car for me though, for a change. Heh. How are you with modifying vehicles to make them faster? ;)

</snark> You're welcome. A lot of people have this problem. </snark>

... or maybe you are the exception to the word "generally." But then doesn't everyone think that? The truth is that she sees what she sees largely for the reason I stated. When people's actions don't match their words, it means they are not fully aware and/or honest about their internal process. Of course almost all of them are likely to deny it and insist that they are truly the exceptions to the rule...

... or maybe you could not assume that some variance of hot air and obfuscation which most people exhibit at one point or another, means that one is somehow definitively a shallow, empty shell of a person, and then direct it at yourself as a personal assault. The level of judgment indicated in that type of talk is why people find it hard to be honest about their own inner psychology to begin with. Long live the Puritans...
