Our meetup in lower Westchester County, NY has been actively canvassing door to door at registered Republican homes with door hangers we designed. We find this to be an excellent way to quickly get information about RP into the hands of voters who matter most - those who are registered to vote in our primary. Cost is under 8 cents each and we find we can do about 60-75 homes per hour per person, depending on the neighborhood layout. In just over two weeks, our small group (40 total, about 10 "very active") has visited over 2,000 homes.

In an effort to help other meetup groups in other states who are looking for ways to do door to door canvassing and are not sure where/how to begin, we have modified the artwork and made available production ready files for each state holding a primary or caucus prior to 4/1.

Complete details - the files, the printer we used, cost and some general information are available on our website (http://www.vote4ronpaul2008.com) in this post. (http://vote4ronpaul2008.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=20&Itemid=47)

We hope others will find these door hangers to be an effective tool in their area as well.

Thanks for posting this. Does the printing company do small batches?

Yes they will do lots smaller than 5,000 but the price per hanger then goes up - 1,000 run $220 (per their web site). We got 5k for 400 shipped, and 10k they list at 710+ship. Instead of charging a setup fee I think they bake it into the pricing.

I've been canvassing neighborhoods with slim jims and liberty cards attached to them, mail box to mail box....I get out about 800-1000 in 6 hours. In our primary in TN, it's open, so some democrats will be voting for RP.......I have the time too, which most people don't, so something to consider when canvassing

Yes I wish my state were open - it would make the door-door a lot easier (though
I'd probably want to check to see if it is still worth the trouble to only go to registered voters).

As to time - we split our efforts up. The larger areas we will meet as a group on the
weekend. Individuals will also take 150-200 door hangers home to work in their own
(smaller) town in their free time. We also have a few people who have more flexilbe
work schedules so they can get out more than others.
