I am been asked several times what Ron Paul supporters will do if he does not get the republican nomination and/or does not run as a third party candidate.

What will you do?

This should be multiple choice.

Why not drink AND write in Ron Paul :p

That doesn't sound like such a bad idea.

Just vote what you will do.

I will report to the other forums I belong to after a few days of inactivity on this poll.

I will never vote for Hillary or Obama. I abhor socialism. At the same time I will not be able to vote with a clear conscience for anyone on the republican side except for Ron Paul.

Neocons are telling me that if I vote for Ron Paul either write in or 3rd party that I will be electing Hillary to office.

My response is simply, "If Ron Paul doesn't win the election I don't care who does."

I guess if RP was completely out, I would vote Romney, no one else. Or Gravel.

I would absolutely not vote for the Democratic candidate, be it Clinton or Obama.

I could not in good conscience vote for Romney, Giuliani, or Huckabee. I might consider biting the bullet to vote for Thompson, McCain, Hunter, or Tancredo -- with there being virtually no chance of any of that happening.

We all have to keep in mind that the odds of a brokered convention are high - who would be the most desirable for Ron Paul to run WITH, if he were offered a VP slot? Giuliani = no way. As for the others, I'd think that overall, Ron Paul might have a better opportunity to continue to spread the freedom message and influence policy as the Vice President than going back to Congress, so a VP slot would be worthy of very serious consideration.

Of course, I still do think we have a good shot to take this thing. That being said, if RP doesn't win the nomination and isn't offered or doesn't take a VP spot, I would hope he runs as an independent and would wholeheartedly support him.

I would not write him in. I expect that if he doesn't get the nomination and doesn't run 3rd party or independent, he will end up endorsing another 3rd party candidate, who I would then vote for.

I have no loyalty to the GOP. If they don't nominate Paul, I'll change my registration back to decline to state, like it was my whole life till this election. I'll probably write in Paul and drink heavily.

Of all the other candidates besides Paul, I think the one I despise the least is probably Chris Dodd. If the General election somehow came down to Dodd versus generic neocon I'd probably vote for Dodd.

Drink, vote RP for 3rd party, or write in RP if necessary.

My choices are A & E - better poll would be something like a hypothetical if he didn't win even after we did all these things, what would you do.
Choices would be more along the lines of things listed in this thread already.

tax evasion
militia
flee the country - where?
rally and protest
run for office somewhere
keep on keepin' on

etc etc

I'm voting for Republican Party nominee Ron Paul in the general election.

The day after the Republican nomination, if Ron Paul doesn't get it, I'm going to update my voter registration to "Independent".

THEN I'm going to write-in Ron Paul, if he's not on the ballot.

Write him in to let those suckers know some people don't like the status quo.

Would be very interesting if Dr. Paul actually won from write in votes.

Imagine the shock to the system that would be.
