If you've watched/read "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King", you're familiar with the "White Tree of Gondor" -- the tree that is spiritually linked to the royal family of Gondor and is all but dead when the corrupt steward Denethoir sits on the throne. When the lawful heir Aragorn enters the kingdom, a single blossom of hope appears -- when he is crowned king, it is in full blossom.

I can't help but compare the situation to the US presidency, and imagine that if there was such a tree by the White House, it'd be in a fairly poor condition these days. Now that Ron Paul is in the presidential race however, liberty is brewing, and blossoms of hope appears all over the country.

I'm wondering if you have any ideas for how we might symbolize this in real life? Not necessarily through botany... Ah and I know I'm being very nerdy now, but I needed to get the analogy out of my system.
