Has it ever been the case that a person going into the primaries raising the most amount of money for their party's nomination been such a pariah in their own party? Think about this... everybody knows that Dr. Paul may out raise every single other republican running for president this quarter. If Ron Paul had been a neo-con who just rose the same amount of money he'd be leading the polls and everybody here knows it... hell the media knows it... the polls aren't reflecting what the people think they're reflecting what the pollsters think.

Why was it that Howard Dean was the darling of the Democratic party before he lost in Iowa in 2004?? It's clear it's because his ideas were right in line with the Democratic party and he had the most money. The two combined to make him the front runner... we on the other hand are shaping up to have the strongest fundraising machine in the Republican party and what we're lucky to get a mention after the largest fundraising day in U.S. history.

Does it piss you off? It should! If you really inform the average American on Ron Paul's beliefs they will disagree with him on some things but I bet all things considered most people (+50%) would like what they were hearing. The republican party is idiotic not to push Ron Paul as the "front-runner". Ron Paul is the only republican can save the Republican party from a loss in 2008. He's the only one who can pull the $$ and grassroots support necessary to beat the Hillary or Obama machines. You all know this and have heard it before.

Many of us are in this position where we think we've done about all we can do at this point to try to put Ron Paul into a good position for the primaries. We've given him the money, and given him some media attention, but what now? Now is where we show the world we're not a bunch of talk. We've put our money where our mouths are... but that's not enough. Howard Dean had people willing to give him money... what he lacked were people on the ground going to caucus and vote for him. We must learn from the mistakes of the past. Meetups boast huge numbers, but how many people attend meetups regularly? How many people of the thousands who donated money to Ron Paul have actually canvassed for Dr. Paul? I'm willing to bet these people are mostly the hardcore supporters.

Something now needs to set us apart, and that is there needs to be a sense of urgency here people! I live in Iowa... and here it's not enough for a candidate to get the majority vote to get delegates... we need a plurality. This means even if Ron Paul gets say 35% of all the supporters at a caucus site as supporters more than any other individual candidate... Romney and Huckabee supporters who might be about 25% each could push through certain delegates who wouldn't ever vote for Dr. Paul at the convention. This means here we need more than 50% of the people who show up to vote at the caucuses to be Ron Paul supporters to ensure a victory in any given precinct. Understand this people! Ron Paul cannot expect to win unless we show up to vote in droves! Furthermore, we can't expect people to vote in droves unless people know and feel this sense of urgency. This is the greatest thing we can do right now on these boards... that is you must propagate a sense of urgency. All our hard work will be for nothing if we can't show in these first rounds of caucuses and primaries that we mean business.
