What's up with meetup??

The number of Ron Paul members is currently shown as 81, 801. It is 7:24PM MT. This number is strange because it is not correct. I've been tracking this number for some time. At 2AM MT this morning the number was 89,496. So what is going on at meetup?

People who have joined and not logged in most likely. Sites to go through and periodically weed their members database of those who sign up and then never come back. Meetup is probably just doing it early so they have it done before the holidays would be my guess.

Does the 89,000 figure include those who are signed up but classified as "waiting", for a local group to be formed?

No, the figure is from the "members" column. Seems meetup is monkeying around with something. On this page is a screen capture I did some days ago where the number is +83,000 - still higher than their current number.

Maybe a lot of people unsigned up. I know I did. I was getting spammed to death by the groups I was in. I left them all. Got sick of it. Perhaps others did too. Also got tired of being sent emails asking me to do illegal things. Didn't want any part of it.

It is possible people are leaving Meetup groups.

Your premise is for sure true in many regards. Meetup.com has some significant problems for the casual user. People leaving does not, however, account for why meetup.com has removed all the maps since a few days ago.

My original presentation exposes the emperor has not clothes but even more clearly shows there is no emperor to begin with.

As it has been now demonstrated the so-called "front runners" are not even in the race but by label only we are left with an itchy question as to if this is correct after having been so incredibly twisted then how much of what we think we know is also absolute fabrication? How deep does the rabbit hole go?
