Quick update: 81,801 Members in 1,385 Meetup Groups, 8,156 waiting for a Meetup Group!!

And I predicted 100k by the end of the year.

That's quite the impressive army of footsoldiers. Just imagine how many people we'll have by the general election.

If every Meetup member went door-to-door and talked to 10 people in their neighborhood each week, then we would have 900,000 contacts per week!

We can do this.

I'm bumping this thread because it's absolutely essential that we connect with as many as our neighbors as possible before the primaries.

I'm committing to contacting 10 of my neighbors every week until the election.

I 'signed up' to join my local Meetup... and haven't heard back from anyone - no emails, nothing.

What's the story with that?? Should I just go to the meetings un-announced?

Absolutely! No permission needed.

It occurred to me the other day that these numbers are somewhat inflated. Many RP meetup members are members of multiple groups, and I think (not 100%) that each time you join a new group, it adds 1 to that group's total, thus adding 1 to the total number of volunteers worldwide. Someone please debunk this, because I hope it's not the case.
