Yep, Pat Buchanan in '00. Proud to have backed him, please read the quote below.

"And how can all our meddling not fail to spark some horrible retribution? Recall: it was in retaliation for the bombing of Libya that Khadafi's agents blew up Pan Am 103. And it is said to have been in retaliation for the Vincennes' accidental shoot-down of that Iranian airliner that Teheran collaborated with terrorists to blow up the Khobar towers. From Pan Am 103, to the World Trade Center (in 1993), to the embassy bombings in Nairobi and Dar - have we not suffered enough not to know that interventionism is the incubator of terrorism? Or will it take some cataclysmic atrocity on U.S. soil to awaken our global gamesmen to the asking price of empire?"

Unfortunately, I have wasted a lot of money on candidates who promised smaller government, then got into office and picked my pockets for their pet projects, namely the MN governor and his socialized baseball stadium. I've given money to some good people too. They just rarely seem to get elected.

But the best money I've ever spent to buy government, I mean, to get someone elected, has been, far and away, the money I've given to Ron Paul.

Nope, this was my first in over 25 years as a Republican.

This is the first for my wife and I. We've never done anything political except to be informed. Tonight we spent 7.5hrs on the local open air mall with a table with a 6' Ron Paul rEVOLution banner and handed out printed info donated by our fellow meetup group members, while another person "worked" the crowd of thousands. This is the second Friday we've done this!!! Calculate that MSM!!!!!!:)

I still can't figger out how that douchebag Pawlenty got re-elected!!

Aside from financing my own campaign for senior class president, this is the first time I've donated to a candidate.:)

Never donated before and I've had the opportunity to do so twice for Presidential elections and 10 times for legislative elections. I've already donated $600 to Ron Paul and I plan to at least double that before the Q3 is over.

Pat Buchanan in 2000 and Believe it or not Ralph Nader in 2004.

However, never felt better about writing a check than I did when I wrote the one to Ron Paul's 2008 Campaign. :)

Before Ron Paul you couldn't talk to me about politics! Now, it's the only thing on my mind. Plus, previously, who could I really give my money to in good conscience?

Same here. I had always felt I had been doing my civic duty by being informed, voting, and reminding others (especially my mom) to vote. The idea of donating money to a candidate, participating in sign waves, and attending a straw poll was something I never thought I would do until I found out about RP. He was the first candidate to inspire this in me. I hope he's not the last.

I feel a political earthquake is happening. Hang on....

.... this kind of thing happens once-in-a-lifetime... if you're lucky. This is how the citizens take back their god-given freedom and individual sovereignty. This is how it's done.

I donated to Ron Paul's Congressional campaign in the past, and I live a few districts over from him.

Other than that I donated to: Michael Badnarik, Harry Browne, Kinky Friedman, Brent Sullivan (local Congressional LP candidate who ran against Sheila "Hurricanes Should Have Blacker Names" Jackson-Lee) and a few other local LP candidates.

To my immortal and unending shame, I voted for John Kerry in '04. In my defense, I was a naive, stupid 20-year-old, and it felt like a "lesser-of-two-evils" situation at the time. Thank God I didn't give him any money. I must say though, that when I was working at the DNC phone banks, I was surrounded by sweet, well-intentioned people who honestly believed in the Democratic Party, as did I. If all those people knew that that both parties are bought and paid for, I'm guessing they would all have voted 3rd Party.

Wow, Ron Paul sure is popping a lot of cherries for a guy that has been married happily for 50 years.

This is the first time either my husband or I have donated to a political cause or campaign. I always felt like Washington got enough of our money already. I plan to keep donating money as much as I can afford to, and I'll be making an effort to donate my time and energy too.
