Try this on for size:

Focusing on Iowa and New Hampshire for now.

Supporters must contact local business that use cups. Coffee shops, pizza shops, Sandwich and deli shops, gas stations with mini markets, etc. All cup users.

We must get prior approval from the owner or management to do this.

The Ron Paul Campaign or a grass roots effort then has cups printed up with Ron Paul for President and whatever else can be said on the side of a cup that will benefit the effort.

The cups are then distributed to all of the participating businesses thus eliminating a fixed overhead cost to them. Free cups for them. Low cost, high impact advertizing at the level of the individual for Ron Paul

Everyone who buys a drink in one of our participating stores would be carrying our info, our name recognition, our message right in their hands.

Its a win-win-win

Please critique, improve, advise...

Bump....

spread this to the meetups and HQ for approval and possible official funding.

We have enough funding now to gear up for the national campaign. The grassroots have much of the early states covered. Do it as grass roots.

Make sure the cups are made of recycled something and can be recycled again.

I like the idea, and agree that we don't need HQ. We can do it.

Logistics:

1. Cup production including strategic graphic design to be printed on them.

2. Ground forces indentifying and negotiating with businesses to gain access.

3. Distribution of cups to leaders on the ground in Iowa and New Hampshire

4. Delivery of cups to these businesses.

For the coffee shops we don't need cups - just the sleeves.

Good thinking. Same deal only new and improved. That's what synergy is all about.

Make sure you include the lid. Not every lid matches every cup. It's sad that starbucks is kinda crapping on the local coffee houses. Fortunately in Iowa we have a lot of small towns with small cafes that all the farmers go to in the morning.

Great idea!

I think the cups need to have his name and for president on one side, and his stances on the other. Make it like a slimjim on a cup!:D

Waste of time. Businesses are not going to replace their own branded cups with Ron Paul cups.

Spend that time raising money, or making videos, or canvassing -- preferably to Republicans...

Focus focus focus. A nice idea, but a distraction.

Decent idea, but Im afraid that most businesses would be hesitant to put political propaganda on their cups. How would you feel about drinking coffee out of a Hillary Clinton cup? Others might feel the same way about Ron Paul, however wrong they might be.

It's a good idea and would be effective. I would expect some resistance from business owners. Generally retail/service businesses remain neutral when it comes to hot topics like politics as they don't want to scare off customers.

I'm not saying it won't work, just understand that's a challenge you may face.

Good points.

The concept would have to be sold to the owners of the small independent businesses and they would probably have to be Ron Paul supporters for it to work.
